Celebrating another having taught some of the Junior Rangers how amazing an map can be! A real life example of scales, visual representation of river movements over time, create 3D drawing in 2D.

Maps aren't only for navigating, they can teach student parts of the curriculum across multiple subjects.

What an awesome day we just had with Kingussie High School supporting their Junior Rangers week!

Weather rolled in with lots of rain and wind meaning a last minute change from canoeing to foot based exploring, allowed for some close up experiences of beaver reintroductions with Pete from the beaver project. Followed by some map interpretations, tarpology, and some ecology themed games in the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest.

🌄🚲⛰️⛰️🥳🎉 It's Official!!! The Scottish Outdoor Education Residential Bill (LIZ Smith) Has Passed Stage 3!!!!!!!!! 🎆🎇🎊📣⛺🥳⛰️🥳

The Scottish Government have agreed that Outdoor Education and Residential experiences are an important part of a young persons development and learning. Therefore they will be making it a right protected by Law for every Scottish child. Once formalities have concluded such as: Gaining Royal Assent, Ministers will then decided when the act will take effect.

We are proud to announce that the Wild Schools Project is now an official holder of the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) license 😁🎉😁. This accreditation allows us to provide exciting adventurous activities such as; rock climbing🧗‍♀️, canoeing, mountain biking🚲, and kayaking to name a few—to schools, youth groups, and under-18s.

What a great day we had working with Kingussie High School and the local primary schools yesterday. As part of we were showing pupils how we use maths in our everyday adventures, from how maths underpins our navigational skills to understanding the strength of our safety equipment.

A mixed discipline trip to play with bringing the environment, adventure and learning together to support both our Outdoor and Adventure Learning practices and Adventure Guiding and Coaching practices.
