Simply an alternative thought while I sit at the airport.

There are many things to admire about game. One of which is how clean and simple her technique is. Here’s a different awareness to raise for your players serve.

At the end of the prep phase, the bicep will be up. At the end of the hitting phase, the bicep will be heading down IF the shoulder internally rotates as it can.

Sometimes, simple cues can be more beneficial than throwing a biomechanics encyclopaedia at the player.

Our next Cheers & Chat is this Monday evening 🍻🎾

One of the things I enjoy most about the Lounge is simply getting coaches together to talk, share ideas and learn from each other.

This time we’ve got two topics to get stuck into:

🎾 How do we plan a term of group coaching that has real purpose and progression?

🎾 How can we formally create more informal coaching environments?

On their own, both are interesting conversations. Put them together and I think we could end up going in some really interesting directions!

As always, Cheers & Chat isn’t about sitting listening to someone present. It’s a chance to get involved, share what you’re doing, ask questions and hear how other coaches are approaching things.

🎾 The Tennis Coach Lounge continues to grow.

One of the things I’ve always wanted the Lounge to be is more than simply a library of drills, ideas and videos.

I want it to be a place that genuinely helps coaches think about coaching.

This is a little look inside one of our latest additions to the Player Development Library.

Real session. Real players. Real coaching decisions.

Coaches can watch the session, consider what they’re seeing, work through reflective questions and, most importantly, decide:

What would I coach next?

There’s no attempt to tell you there’s one right answer. The aim is to challenge your thinking, give you ideas to take back onto court and help you continue to develop your own coaching eye.

This is the type of coach education I want us to keep building inside The Tennis Coach Lounge.
