I DID IT!! 🥹 And I'm shouting from the rooftops!

After 3 years of tears, meltdowns, mitigation requests, full-on tantrums and more than a few moments of wondering why on earth I ever thought doing a degree was a good idea… I’ve passed! 🎓 For once I am so ridiculously happy and proud of myself!

At 45 years old, I’ve finally achieved something I’ve started and given up on so many times in the past. This time, even when it got really tough, I kept going - with support from the most wonderful people that I am fortunate to know and have in my life 🥹

That's it, the summer holidays are done! ☀️ For the first time in nearly 10 years of childminding, I’ve had regular adult company throughout the holidays and what a difference it's made. Shout out to Wee Bairns Childminding for sharing so many of the adventures and the chaos! My children asked every day "is Deborah coming?"

I’ve worked for around 30 years, in LOTS of different jobs (was possible in the 'olden days 🤭), and I can honestly say childminding is the best one I’ve ever had. It can be exhausting, unpredictable and sometimes completely bonkers… but I wouldn’t swap it!

This summer has also reminded me how valuable it is for childminders to have other childminders around them ❤️ That’s something I’d love to see more of through the Clackmannanshire Childminders Community Group - local childminders connecting, sharing ideas, meeting up and supporting each other. When we build those connections, it’s not just us who benefit...the children get more friendships, experiences and opportunities too.

So, Clacks childminders out there… come and join us, even if it’s just so you have another adult to talk to next summer! 😎

Friday already… and that’s pretty much the summer holidays wrapped up! ☀️ Just two staff development days to go before the big day on Wednesday 🎒

We finished our week with another trip to Stirling University, hopping on the bus and spending the day exploring the beautiful grounds 🚌🌳 There were paths to follow, huge trees to investigate and attempt to climb and plenty of space to run around.

I feel sad to be at the end of another summer of adventures already… but what a summer it’s been! 🥰

I can't believe I've never visited Culross Palace before now...all the times we've been to the playpark and never ventured across the road! 🙈 Such a beautiful building and amazing garden. The Outlander fan in me is already dying to re-watch the episodes where the rooms were used for filming! 🎬 Doune Castle next kids! I have to follow in Jamie and Claire's footsteps🤣

There's plenty places to visit over the holidays with a National Trust for Scotland membership, that and our Historic Scotland membership has been a godsend! Just need a Childminder bus pass Stagecoach Midland Bluebird and train card ScotRail please 🎟 My travel has been the most expensive part of the holidays! 🫢 and the National Entitlement Card The Scottish Government is fantastic though, if you don't already have that for your children over 5 years I definitely recommend applying.

Something different for us today! We enjoyed a vip visit to Bowl Stirling 🤩 Three of today's team will be starting P1 on Wednesday - with one being with me for 4 years! 😭 I'll have to let another special little one go off to school too, time just flies by when we're having fun!

We’re having a house day today and everyone is officially on postie watch while my daughter waits for her exam results. She decided to do it the old-fashioned way instead of signing up for the text… a decision she may now be regretting as every movement passing the window is being closely investigated! 👀 We can't wait to see them coming up the path!

Meanwhile, I’m already impatiently refreshing Brightspace waiting for my final assignment results, so there’s not much calmness coming from me either 🙃🤞
