Everyone at Judo Club Esprit is incredibly proud to congratulate Neil Macdonald (-66kg) and Jaden Calder (-100kg) on their selection to represent Scotland at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

For Neil, who now proudly represents Judo Club Esprit, this selection is a reflection of years of dedication, sacrifice, and hard work on and off the mat. To earn the opportunity to compete for Scotland at a home Commonwealth Games is a tremendous achievement and one that everyone at the club is delighted to celebrate.

We are equally thrilled to see Jaden Calder selected in the -100kg category. A focal point within our club community, His continued commitment and performances have earned him a place amongst Scotland’s best athletes, and we look forward to watching him compete on one of the biggest stages in sport.

Having two athletes selected to represent Scotland is a fantastic moment and highlights the strength and ambition of this judo club. We know both Neil and Jaden will wear the Saltire with pride and be outstanding ambassadors for the sport.
