Two years ago today...
Another memory from 1 year ago today...
Hi everyone, the plan is to meet for a practice at 5pm tomorrow (Monday) just pupils, and then invite family and friends for a wee performance/singalong at 6.30 in the Assembly Hall at Alloa Academy. Sorry for the short notice... it's been a very busy time for everyone and it's been difficult to fit everything in! Price will be £1 per person at the door which will cover our expenses and hopefully leave us something to start off next year if people are keen to continue. EVERYONE is welcome, even if we haven't seen you yet this year!
If you are unable to attend these rehearsals, we still want you back for our Reunion Concert! Please get in touch through Facebook, Twitter or [email protected] and we'll get back to you with further details.
Hi everyone, rehearsals for the Singing Club Reunion Concert begin next week! Please come to Alloa Academy from 5pm-6.30pm on Wednesday November 5th. All former members are welcome - we are looking forward to getting everyone back together. Please 'like' us if you plan on coming back! Further details will follow...
A reminder that if your child is attending the new Redwell school in August, the children will start the new term two days later on Thursday 21st August. This will allow staff to unpack and prepare the new school.
There will also be an open afternoon at the school on Wednesday 20th August from 1pm - 6pm for parents, children and the local community to have short guided tours of the new building. Come along to the main entrance of the school if you'd like to attend.
As we kit out our children for their start at Redwell Primary School, please remember that we are planning to donate all our 'old' items of uniform to charity.
Please keep any items that would be suitable and donate them after the summer holiday - any items of uniform with St John's Primary School logo including jackets and PE kit items are welcome, as well as skirts, pinafores, trousers, summer dresses etc
More information to follow in the new session.
Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely sunshine!

Important message re Ye-ha! DVDs from Gary D'Arcy of Rhymemaker who produced them...
I'm being made aware that some of you are experiencing problems with your DVDs of Ye-Ha! and will be doing what I can to help. Each one of these discs were created then verified as error free using a state of the art duplicator and high quality discs. This process is not the same as 'shop bought' DVD's and there can be compatibility issues with older DVD players that don't appear with shop bought discs. So far I've tested 2 discs that were reported faulty and returned and they were fine. I'm happy to replace any faulty discs, but before you submit them please check that they are not scratched or covered in fingerprints (cleaning with a glasses cloth is best, not your jumper or t-shirt please) and try your disc in another or newer DVD player if you can to make sure there's not a compatibility issue with your player as I'll be using the same process to burn the replacement discs. If you are sure that your disc is faulty, please return it in its case to school by Monday 23rd and I'll ensure it's replaced and back to you before the end of term.
Finally - my daughter Erin is getting a bit of grief from some kids over this issue. Could you let your kids know it's not her fault please.
Thank you. Gary D'Arcy
