🌈 RAINBOW RAFFLE 🌈
Our wonderful Friends of Newton have been busy putting together lots of colourful hampers this evening! Take a look at all the wonderful prizes that are up for grabs 🌈🤩
A reminder: raffle tickets will be available to buy on Thursday, both in the playground at drop off time and at the Colour Run. If you are unable to attend and would still like to buy some tickets, please let school know and we can arrange to get some to you.
Tickets will be £2 for a strip of five and winners will be drawn after the Colour Run.
All of the money raised will go towards our goal of getting a new outdoor shelter for our children, so please do ask family and friends if they would like to get involved!

😍A couple of weeks ago we had a fabulous visit from Derby Cathedral. They came to see Topaz's singing lesson in action.
The children were fabulous and really made everyone really proud.
However we did really enjoy having lots of new voices with us.
Thanks as ever to Mrs. Robinson from Derby Cathedral for leading such fabulous sessions.😍

Colour Run 2026
Dear Parents and Guardians, We are delighted to confirm that children will be taking part in our annual Colour Run this year – a fun, inclusive and non‑competitive event promoting fitness, wellbeing and community spirit.
📅 Thursday 4th June
⏰ 1.45pm
📍 School Field
💷 £3.00 (payable via ParentPay – covers paint)
Children should wear old white or light‑coloured clothing, comfortable footwear, and protective eyewear (sunglasses or swimming goggles).
🌈 New for this year: Colour pouches will be available to buy for £1 for a final colour throw at the end of the event. Proceeds will support the Bolsover District Active School Network Team. The powder used is non‑toxic and safe, and staff will supervise the event throughout.
Please inform school if your child has any allergies or sensitivities. We also recommend bringing a change of clothes for home time.

🌟REMINDER: Sponsored Walk – TOMORROW (Wednesday 6th May) 🌟
Tomorrow afternoon we are holding our whole‑school Sponsored Walk to raise money for a new playground shelter. Children should wear their royal blue PE kit and trainers, and bring a water bottle and hat (sun cream applied before school). Fun headwear welcome!
🚶♀️ We REALLY need parent support 🚶♂️
We would be extremely grateful for parent volunteers to walk alongside the children, encourage them and help keep everyone safe and motivated. If you can spare the time, please let school know as soon as possible – your support makes a huge difference.
⏰ Warm‑up starts after lunch, walking begins at 1:20pm, returning by approx. 2:30pm.
💙 Sponsorship forms will come home – thank you for supporting our fundraising effort.
Thank you for your continued help and support!

Dear Families,
Please be aware that our school app is currently not working. We have been experiencing ongoing issues since last week. On the occasions when the app is briefly available, we are trying to use it as quickly as possible to share information.
In the meantime, we will be posting as much information as we can on our page, so please check there regularly for updates.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this is causing and thank you for your patience and understanding.
Many thanks,
NPS

🤩What a fabulous afternoon🤩
A huge thank you to Mel from Platform31 for organising today’s wonderful community event at Newton Primary.
The children absolutely loved exploring the houses and shops, and they were so engaged in creating their own drawings too – it was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and creativity.
A big thank you as well to Tony, who was fabulous. Your warmth and support mean a great deal to our school community.
Thank you to all that visited.
