Forest School Fun! 🌿🐞

Today in Nursery, we became mini conservationists as we worked together to build our very own bug hotel! Using natural materials we found around our Forest School, the children explored, created, and discovered how we can provide safe habitats for insects and other tiny creatures.

This hands-on experience encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, curiosity about the natural world, and respect for living things. Learning outdoors gives children the opportunity to investigate, imagine, and develop confidence through meaningful play.

This week in Nursery, we’ve been doing our best to stay cool while having lots of fun! β˜€οΈπŸ’¦

The children enjoyed plenty of water play, exploring, experimenting, and developing their communication, physical, and social skills through play.

We also learned all about snails, observing them closely and talking about where they live, how they move, and what they need to survive. 🐌

A wonderful week full of curiosity, discovery, and laughter!

This week, Superworm inspired us to become worm detectives! We explored real earthworms, discovered where they live, how they move, and why they are important for our environment.

πŸœπŸ•·οΈ Our Nursery Learning Wall is continuing to grow!

Last week, we learned all about spiders, and this week we have ventured into the fascinating world of ants. Through stories, investigations, creative activities, and outdoor exploration, the children have been developing their curiosity about the natural world and discovering how these amazing minibeasts live and work together.

Our learning supports the EYFS curriculum by encouraging communication and language, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design, while fostering a love of nature and exploration.

We can’t wait to see where our minibeast adventure takes us next! πŸŒΏπŸ”

πŸ•·οΈ Last week in Nursery, we enjoyed reading The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle.

The children learned lots of interesting facts about spiders, including how they spin their webs and the important role they play in nature. We explored spider-themed activities, developed our vocabulary, and shared our ideas about the story.

One of our favourite parts of the week was singing Incy Wincy Spider, complete with actions! The children loved joining in and building their confidence through music and movement.

What a busy week of learning and fun! πŸ•ΈοΈπŸŽΆ

Nursery has been busy creating beautiful underwater art inspired by Tiddler! 🌊🐠 We have loved learning all about the ocean and exploring sea creatures through stories, creativity, and play. 🎨✨

The children used different colours, textures, and materials to bring their underwater worlds to life while developing their imagination and fine motor skills. πŸ™πŸŸ

Today at Forest School, Nursery enjoyed using monoculars to explore the world around them! πŸ”πŸŒΏ Some children spotted birds high in the trees, while others enjoyed looking closely at the clouds drifting across the sky. ☁️🐦

This activity encouraged curiosity, observation skills, communication, and exploration of the natural environment. 🌳✨

Another wonderful Thursday in Nursery! 🌿πŸ”₯

We were lucky enough to have our forest school expert, Mr Parker, with us today. The children had an amazing time building a fire, making hot chocolate, and toasting marshmallows together around the campfire. β˜•πŸ«

A fantastic outdoor learning experience filled with teamwork, confidence building, and lots of smiles! 🌲✨
