🏅Last week the Infants were also treated to a visit from James Dasaolu - a Team GB sprinter - who gave an inspiring talk about how to be an athlete. The children were then led through some “fitness challenges” led by James and they showed excellent skill and determination!
What another amazing opportunity our children had! 🏅

☀️ As temperatures are forecast to be high this week, children are welcome to wear their school PE kit all week to help keep them cool. Please can we ask that it is school kit / plain tops and not football/rugby tops etc. Please can they remember hats, suncream and water bottles too. Please can these be named. During break time, they will be asked to wear a hat and if they do not have one will be encouraged to stay in the shade. ☀️

Rounding off National Sports Week - Year 3/4 experienced some new activities provided by Owen from SEN Sport - was great to see the children learning the rules and then being able to play Goalball as well as being taught basic skills in boxing by former Team GB and England Boxer Jade Ashmore 🥊.

Throughout the week we have enjoyed getting to know what sports and activities are on offer in our local area as well as learning about what our children get up to - we have children taking part not only in dance , football and gymnastics but also Motor-cross, golf and synchronised swimming!
Our PE Lead, Mr Smith, enjoys learning about what the children get up to so if your child competes in a sport or club, do get them to let him know!

We have an active end of year coming up from a County Finals event to the whole school Sports Day which children have now started to practice for. 🏅

Town End continue to look at developing sport and activity for our children - not only to meet the government’s “active 60 minutes” but to allow our children to thrive in a wide range of different activities - and as a 2-time Platinum School Games Award winning school , we look forward to continuing our work in developing this area.

Was amazing to see his gold medals from championships across Europe with some children lucky enough to wear them!

Town End have been busy at the Father’s Day shop purchasing gifts and treats for dads, grandads, brothers and other special family members and friends!

A huge thank you to our School Council and Mrs Hodson for organising such a fantastic event for our children. All money raised will go towards our whole school Feel Good Day later in the term.

Thank you Opus Plumbing and Heating 🔧💧

This week, Alex had the pleasure of visiting Tibshelf Infant School as part of their Careers Day, talking to the children about what it's like to work in the plumbing and heating industry.

It's never too early to inspire the next generation and show children the many different career paths available to them.

Who knows, there may have been a few future plumbers, heating engineers, or business owners in the room! 😊

What a great day across the Federation for Careers Day! Here at the Infants we’ve been lucky enough to have:
- an office worker
- an ecologist
- a plumber
- a farrier
- and a lorry driver
Give up their time to talk about their careers.
Staff and children all made a great effort dressing up!

🐘🦁 Parents you smashed it! A huge thank you to all our families who braved the rain today to take part in the Big Toddle! Children looked ace! Also a big shout out to our Tibshelf team who pulled it out the bag with the Balloon Arch, dressing up and setting up the track in the rain! There’s still time to donate! 🐘🦁

🐘🦁 We have lots of excited animals ready to splish, splash and splosh our way through The Big Toddle this afternoon! We’ve nearly met our fundraising target! Don’t forget to bring wellies and umbrellas! ☔️
