☕🎶 Welcome to Swanwick Cafe! 🎶☕

Today we launched our trial of free-flow lunches, giving children the choice of when to have their lunch. With no queues, music playing and children taking responsibility for clearing up after themselves, the cafe had a lovely atmosphere throughout.

There’s a rumour doing the rounds that our older children don’t always enjoy OPAL and that play is only for younger children… but we know that's not true!

Today some of our Year 6 children opened their very own sand café, Whoosh, at lunchtime. From creating imaginative dishes to serving delighted customers across the playground, they had an absolute blast.

It’s yet another reminder that play has no age limit. Creativity, imagination and joy don’t disappear as children get older – if anything, they flourish when given the opportunity. 💛

🚓 MINI POLICE 🚓

Our Mini Police sessions have now finished for the year!

Award ceremonies for our Amber Valley Mini Police Officers were held at Swanwick Primary School and Coppice Primary and Nursery School this week, marking the end of our Mini Police sessions for the year. 🏆

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff, teachers, pupils and parents involved in these sessions and the ceremonies, and wish our Mini Police Officers all the best of luck as they move into their final year of Primary School (Year 6).
We are proud of all the hard work you have put into the sessions over the year and the difference you have made to your schools and local communities.

As of September, our Mini Police sessions will continue with the current Year 4's (soon to be Year5's) at the above schools, and we cannot wait to meet you all!
