Life is simple.
Easy to say, I know. But hear me out.
The other day I was teaching a student (Science Cafe) about the structure of DNA. π§¬
DNA is the blueprint for every living thing on Earth. And it's written using just four bases: A, T, C and G. That's it. The order they're arranged in is what makes a daisy, a horse, or you.
All that complexity, from four simple building blocks.
It made me think about how our experience of life works. Sydney Banks described it as three principles: Mind, Consciousness and Thought. Three simple things, and from them comes everything we feel and experience.
A client said something recently that has stayed with me. She talked about how children see life. They don't carry preconceived ideas or expectations, so nothing gets in the way of seeing life as it is. They don't get bogged down in thought.
I see this every time I share science with children, like at this birthday party. πΈ They don't overthink it. They just look, wonder and explore. I love watching them discover the universe with completely open eyes.
As adults, life starts to feel complicated when we get lost in the endless sequence of our thoughts and forget the simplicity underneath them.
Just like DNA, the complexity is real. But it's built on something simple.
Where in your life could you see things with the view more like a child?
