It was good to see so many students back training after the festive break. Just for your information I will be heading off to New Zealand next month for three weeks, but have arranged for cover for all three classes so there will be an instructor available and classes will run *almost* as usual. I say almost, as I could not get cover for the 6:15 - 7:00 class, so for the weeks of the 10th, 17th and 24th February there will only be 7:00 - 7:45pm and 7:45 - 9:00pm classes.

The lovely Mrs Kira Brownie will be covering 10th and the 17th, and our own new Head Instructor Ms Darcie Leiper will be covering the 24th. It would be nice if these classes are well attended so that the instructors don't turn up to an empty hall.

Classes on tomorrow evening, Tuesday 13th January 2026!!

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a lovely time over the festive break, and enjoyed having family and friends round at Christmas and over the New Year.

With the current awful weather, and the projected snow and ice over the coming days I think it best to cancel the first class of the year which was supposed to be Tuesday 6th January.

As it stands both our cars are hopelessly entombed in snow and the local plough has left three foot high walls across the driveway to the flat where we are temporarily staying, to say nothing of the state of the roads between Torphins and Inverurie.

Hopefully this will improve in the coming week and we can get back to training on the 13th. I will let you all know whether classes will recommence on that date.

Hi All,

The Christmas break this year will run from 9th December until the 6th January. The reason for the extended break is due to our house move happening on the 15th December and we're going to be pretty busy through that period.

Last class of 2025 will be Tuesday 2nd December

First class of 2026 will be Tuesday 6th January

Alford Choi Kwang Do would like to offer their congratulations to our new Black Belt students. Madison Jones, Jack Bolton and Sandra Jaffrey all graded successfully from Brown Belt Snr to 1st Dan Black Belt at the Tullynessle Hall alongside Maike Willuweit who graded to 2nd Dan, and Darcie Leiper who tag tested to 2nd Dan Purple. Everyone did very well, and we are very proud of their accomplishments.

Special thanks to Kira Brownie for being a guest examiner and Ryan Geddes and our own Sean Flann for helping out with floor command and assisting with drills.

We are very fortunate to enjoy the support of our sister schools, and these joint gradings help foster closer bonds between them. Kira is 3rd Dan school owner of the CKD Black Belt Academy and Beacon CKD.

Time for a Summer Break, Alford CKD will be closed until Tuesday the 19th August when the schools return. We hope you all have a lovely time over the Summer period and can return refreshed and ready to resume training! Best wishes, John Flann
