🍫 Learning Comes to Life at Cadbury World: Our Year 7 students had a fantastic day at Cadbury World, where they enjoyed an exciting and educational experience exploring the history of one of the UK's most famous chocolate brands. Throughout the day, students learned about the journey of cocoa beans from plantation to chocolate bar, discovered the story behind the Cadbury family, and enjoyed a range of interactive exhibits and activities. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to bring learning to life, creating links with what we have been learning in the Y7 Business curriculum.

🧪 Year 12 Chemists Take on Forensic Challenge in RSC Analyst Competition: Our Y12 Chemists have been participating in the Royal Society of Chemistry's Schools' Analyst Competition this week. This has allowed them to demonstrate and expand their chemistry knowledge, skills and aptitude in the areas of forensic, cosmetic, and analytical science.
As analytical chemists, they were investigating the cause of a mysterious illness that had befallen a person working in a local pharmacy. Through a combination of gravimetric analysis, titrations, and thin-layer chromatography, pupils were tasked with helping to work out if foul play was involved!

🏏 QEGS U15s Secure County Finals Spot!: Congratulations to the QEGS U15 cricket team, who emerged victorious in their league triangular tournament against Louth Academy and KEVIGS, securing their place in the county finals.
In their opening fixture, QEGS posted an impressive 123 from 16 overs. Nav S and Jacob S both retired unbeaten on 18, helping set a challenging target. Outstanding bowling and sharp fielding then ensured a comfortable victory, with Jacob S earning the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance.
The second match against KEVIGS saw QEGS produce another excellent display. Superb opening spells from Sam W and Archie M, backed up by outstanding fielding and crucial run-outs from Henry B and Will E, restricted the opposition to 82 runs.
Chasing victory, captain Rowan S led from the front with an unbeaten 35. He was well supported by Henry B (18) and Will E (16*), as QEGS reached their target with an over to spare.
It was a fantastic team effort throughout the tournament, with every player contributing to a memorable success.
