It was an honour to host Lauren from Toddle tales at our preschool today.
She has told our children biblical story about Easter. As much as we all love chocolate and egg hunts let us remember WHO is being celebrated and remembered at Easter.
Our children were engrossed into the story and LOVED taking an active part in welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem by waving their palm branches and looking for a donkey that was hiding to take Jesus there π΄π
Thank you Toddle Tales ππ
Few of our recent set ups ALL following our children's current interests and schemas

Here is what Vygotsky said: ' It must not be forgotten that the basic law of children's creativity is that its value lies not in its results, not in the product of creation, but in the process itself. It is not important what children create, but that they do create, that they exercise and implement their creative imagination. '
Finger painting, transient art, den building for woodland animals is what our day was filled with π¨ππ

Following our children's interest last week was full of treasure hunts, pirate ship building, potions making, fruit cutting, sensory exploration, tea making and discovering a glass jar with a tap.
We all wonder where our children will take us next?
Let us know how is your half term break so far and what you are getting up to?
Post pictures if easier ππ
When loose parts became a center of today's play ππ It was PEACEFUL. EVERYONE WAS ENGAGED ππand super CREATIVE and most of all the children were in charge of their play ππ
When some see loose parts as trash at Little Gems we see it as TREASURE ππ
I invite you this Thursday at 7:30pm to DISCOVER which GEM you and your children are.
There are four types of Gems: Emerald, Pearl, Ruby and Sapphire.
Dani Johnson, creator of this personality assessment, mentions that we have characteristics of all four gems within us, some have more of two and little of others. Some have more of one, and communicate in one primary Gem more than others. Understanding your Gem and the Gem of others that you parent, work with or interact with, can help you as you better your communication and focus on helping them feel understood.
If you are WISHING TO better your relationship with your children and others around you message me for a private link to this FREE class.
See you there π

Benefits of playing with loose parts π€
Today our little gems had an opportunity to play with old car parts. There was no end to their curiosity and imagination.
When a little boy picked up a loose bit I asked him: 'do you know what is that part used for?' He demonstrated it to me by putting the pedal on the floor and pressing it with his foot followed by an explanation ' and then you go. '
I was very impressed by his knowledge of how to drive a car.
Why loose parts play is a huge part of our planning?
βWhen children interact with loose parts, they enter a world of βwhat ifβ that promotes the type of thinking that leads to problem solving and theoretical reasoning. Loose parts enhance children's ability to think imaginatively and see solutions, and they bring a sense of adventure and excitement to children's playβ.
We are delighted to introduce to you our newest member of the team Janine.
Her passion for Early Years is inspiring and we are excited to see her contribution to every little mind as she will sparkle children's curiosity with her creativity and joy.
Janine is qualified to level 5 in childcare. She is a wife and a Mum to two beautiful children and a Suitcase Treasure Bundles business owner. She is also a great advocate of Curiosity Approach which we are hoping to see more of in our setting.
When you see her tomorrow give her a BIG welcome. All the best for your first day tomorrow πβ€οΈ
A little sneak pick into our weekππ
We are ALL thankful for this glorious weather and we are making the most of it ππ
Show us in the comment what you have been up to this weekend so far ππ I will start π
First week was so much FUNππ
Our settling in children surprised us all with their confidence and ability to adapt to new, massive change called: pre-schoolππ
We found a slug in the garden, painted 100+pictures, enjoyed our water wall and getting splashed on, took doggies for a walk, visited dinosaurs land, build towers taller than ourselves, discovered talking tubes, made tone of new friends and we are DEFINITELY ready for week 2.
Tell us in the comments what was your little one sharing with you about their first week of school πππ
Good luck to all the children returning, starting Primary school, settling in with us tomorrow.
We are thinking about you ALL and wishing you the best of luck β€οΈ
We would love to hear from our leavers how your first day at school goes πΈπ
Birdworld trip was super successful. It was heartwarming to see the extremely strong friendships between our little gems.
Those will be the first friendships that they will cherish and remember for life
First ever friendships which can be remembered! π€ππ€
There are studies that confirm that the earliest memories, which can be recalled, point back to when we were 2.5 years old.
Have a lovely Summer and see you in September β€οΈ
We have asked our leavers what will they miss the most about Little Gems πhere is what they have said:
' dinosaurs, sport (several timesβΊοΈ), water play new water wall, playdough, some of them responded with everything and of course Miss Tammy ππ'
We have also asked what they liked the most about Little Gemsπ they responded with:
'lunch time, mud kitchen, playing with porridge, magnets, sport, many of friends names and everything...'
This is getting so real and we are loving every minute with our precious childrenπππβ€οΈ
Ask your little one what they have enjoyed the most at Little Gems and share it in the comments ππππ
Here is our official announcement π’π’π’
Our preschool have been rated GOOD with OUTSTANDING features in the recent and our very first Ofsted inspection.
This is one of the things the inspector has pointed it out:
'Children benefit from a highly effective key-person system. Staff know their children exceptionally well. They ensure that they understand the unique needs of each child and identify individual learning styles'
EVERY CHILD IS A GEM and we are thrilled that the inspector has noticed it in our practiseππππππ
Well done to the AMAZING team that has worked tirelessly to earn this recognition.
Can you help me thank them with your comments πππππ
Our water wall has arrived the Summer can now properly start ππ¦ Would you agree?
The children are in love with it and there is no end to giggles and laughterππ

During our last staff meeting we had a privilege to learn from Janine from Suitcase Treasure Bundles.
Not only she educated us about benefits of curiosity approach but also inspired us with many new ideas, opened our minds and helped us come up with a great plan in the further implementation of this approach in our setting.
We are forever GREATFUL ππ
