Do you know a veterinary nurse (or veterinary nursing team) who has made a lasting difference? Throughout May, for , BVNA will be inviting veterinary clients and colleagues to shine a light on the registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) and student veterinary nurses (SVNs) who give so much of themselves, often behind the scenes and without recognition.

Perhaps you know a veterinary nurse who has:
✅ Sat with you when your animal was unwell or at the end of their life
✅ Offered kindness, patience, or reassurance when emotions ran high
✅ Treated your pet with dignity, gentleness, and genuine love
✅ Supported you in ways you’ll never forget, even if you never had the words at the time

Nominations are invited from:
✅ Clients, whose lives and animals have been touched by compassionate veterinary nursing care
✅ Colleagues, who witness daily the emotional labour, professionalism, and dedication that often goes unseen

Simply complete a short nomination form highlighting how a veterinary nurse has supported you, your animal, or your workplace. One winner and runner-up will be selected from both individual and team entries, winning a prize worth up to £250!

Thank you for helping BVNA to honour the veterinary nurses who care quietly, selflessly, and wholeheartedly — every single day.

👩🏻‍⚕️✨Following VN Spark 2.0 the feedback from RVNs who attended was clear: GO BIGGER!

I’ve taken your feedback on board and this time secured a much larger venue with a fantastic exhibition space.

It will be filled with organisations committed to supporting RVNs in making care safer, easier, more efficient and more effective.

🥰It has been SO refreshing to have meaningful conversations with all of these organisations individually who genuinely want to listen and learn from those of us on the ground. What do we vet nurses need? What do vet nurses want? These are the questions they are asking me - so make sure you share your views with them too when you are wandering around✌🏻

(Clippers that never break….. a device to get the cardboard middle of a paper towel roll out…..wireless multiparameter machine, a face shield for patients having dentals to keep them dry which can be reused…clumping cat litter that you can actually scoop out of a litter tray with ease…. Seasonal themed disinfectants with calming pheromones …. To name a few✌🏻👀😆)

Anyhooo……

❤️One of my core values is collaboration and connection - sharing knowledge & experiences is invaluable.
This is when innovation occurs and changes are made.

🥳I now have 30 brilliant companies lined up including some amazing independent RVN businesses and I cannot wait for you to join us and explore the latest products, equipment, materials, resources and services available.

There will be plenty of competitions and giveaways too!

I have been truly blown away by the support this event (and I!) have received. It is hard to believe this will be my third event, and the biggest one yet.

📱Thank you to everyone who has already purchased a ticket - see you in September 🥰

✨Thank you, thank you, thank you✨

We’re looking forward to supporting Emily and Casey throughout their student nurse training 🐾🎓

Happy Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month! 💚

Happy Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month!

We’re so pleased to see Emily and Casey take the next step in their veterinary careers as they begin their student nurse training with us and MYF Training.

Both are familiar faces and started with us as veterinary care assistants - Emily in our prep team and Casey in our neurology team - so it’s brilliant to see them building on that experience and growing into their new roles.

Wishing you both every success as you start this exciting chapter, continuing to learn, develop, and make a difference to the animals in our care. 💙
