🎉 25 years of MYF Training 🎉

Next up in our Meet the Team series, we’re introducing Anna! 💚

Anna joined MYF in 2023 and is our Administrator & Exam Coordinator. 🐾🎓

Here’s a little bit about Anna:

"I joined MYF in July 2023 as part of the administration team, supporting a range of areas including student enrolments, general enquiries and office administration. I also take on the role of Exams Coordinator, overseeing the organisation, administration, and delivery of student examinations.
I hold a National Diploma in Animal Management and am also C-SQP trained. In recent years, I have gained experience across management, pet retail and administration.

I also have a CIPD Level 3 qualification in People Practice/HR.

Outside of work, I enjoy shopping (probably a little too much!), baking and playing badminton. At home, I have a ginger cat called Tiyo, who definitely thinks he’s in charge!"

Next up in our Meet the Team series, we’re introducing Amy! 💚

Amy joined MYF in 2021 and is one of our dedicated lecturers teaching a range of subjects including nutrition, diagnostic imaging, wound management and first aid 🐾🎓

Here’s a little bit about Amy:
"I started working in practice in 2004 and qualified as an RVN in 2009.
I have worked in a variety of small animal practices since I started nursing and worked as head nurse since 2013. I have also been a clinical coach to several students.
Whilst in practice I have achieved my Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing, the ISFM Certificate in Feline Nursing and a COAPE Certificate in Canine and Feline Veterinary Health Nutrition.
I have a keen interest in all things feline and in nutrition, particularly weight management and clinical nutrition. I also enjoy in patient care and discovering ways we can improve the experience for our hospitalised patients."

🎉25 years of MYF Training 🎉

As we celebrate 25 years, we thought it was the perfect time to introduce you to the people behind MYF who make it all happen...

First up, we’re introducing the person at the heart of MYF — our Head of Centre and owner Julie 💚

Here’s a little bit about Julie, her journey and how MYF all began...

"When I started my training as a veterinary surgeon, little did I believe that I would be running a company training veterinary nurses and employing as many people as we now have here!
I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1989, and worked in practice for a while, before starting a part time job at Farnborough College of Technology. We had just 7 students when I started, but the courses became more and more successful, and I gradually became full time.
In 2001 I left Farnborough and set up MYF Training. Initially I was on my own, but the business grew quickly, and after 18 months I took on my first member of staff, and the company has not looked back!
Away from Aldershot, I enjoy target r***e shooting, and have represented Hertfordshire, England and Great Britain, and still compete both in the UK and abroad."

Student Veterinary Nursing Congress returns on Monday 25 January 2027!

This FREE, virtual event is open to anyone studying veterinary nursing on a diploma, degree, or apprenticeship programme, including students training with other providers. This year we have also opened congress admission to those studying a veterinary care qualification.

SVN Congress offers a well-rounded programme packed with informative sessions. From in-depth discussions on CPR to caring for hospitalised reptiles, the event covers a wide range of topics useful to student veterinary nurses. Highlights also include sessions focused on preparing for OSCEs and beyond, utilising skillsets, and what to expect when using anaesthetic drugs.

MYF Training will be offering the following practical revision courses leading up to the VetSkill OSCE examinations this Autumn.

This will provide students the opportunity to practise the tasks for these exams with guidance from an experienced lecturer and assessor.

WE NEED YOU! 😍

OWR sees around 4,000 wildlife casualties being admitted every year, and that's not including all the other patients we advise for and assist elsewhere too! Without our amazing team of dedicated volunteers, we simply wouldn't be able to deliver the care, attention, treatment or rescue for these animals!

Volunteering your time to help give back to nature, can be a rewarding experience. seeing these animals and birds coming in, sick, injured and or orphaned, being nursed back to health and later be released back to the wild is one thing, but to play your part and role within this process.. is another world entirely 🥹

We are looking to recruit more volunteers for the evening shifts at weekends. 6pm - 10pm Saturdays or Sundays. If you can help us, and wish to give back to nature, please fill in a volunteer application form via our website through the link below ❤

Congratulations Becky! Enjoy your celebrations 🥳💚

🎉 BECKY IS NOW A QUALIFIED NURSE 🎉

We just to say how proud we are of our our newly qualified nurse Becky!

Becky has worked incredibly hard over 6 years, starting from reception, to animal care assistant and now nurse! We are so proud at Becky’s determination, hard work and how she aced all her assignments, exams and OSCE’s!

We can’t wait to see where this career takes you Becky!! ❤️
