This just made the news. Alan Jones worked for Pilkington for nearly 36 years. He was disabled and genuinely off sick. His employer hired a surveillance company to watch him. They filmed him passing a bag of potatoes to a friend and decided that was evidence he was working while off sick. He was sacked for gross misconduct. The tribunal found they never got updated medical evidence before dismissing him. He won £329,000. He said money was never the motivation, it was always about justice. What do you think of this? Someone posted this online. They have a disciplinary hearing next week and their employer hasn’t provided a single piece of evidence. No witness statements. Nothing.
