Last week in pre-school at Cedars@Boot Farm, the children took part in a delightful art exploration that really allowed them to use their fine motor skills for painting 🎨An adult placed cling film over the table and then added a range of pastel colours on top of it. Next, another layer of cling film was placed over the colours, providing the children with the opportunity to mix everything together. Once they finished mixing, we carefully removed the top layer of cling film. The children found some paper and pressed it down on top of the paint. Their excitement was clear as they exclaimed, “wow it’s a rainbow!”
Activity two - Scissor control✂️
In our next activity, the children were given a challenge to cut along the lines on a piece of paper. Everyone gathered around the table where an adult demonstrated how to use scissors safely. After watching the demonstration closely, the children took turns cutting along the lines by themselves. They explored the scissors and practised their cutting skills with focus and determination, enjoying the process of making their creations.
Activity three - Animal hunt🔎🐸
Today we embarked on an exciting animal hunt in the woods, encouraging both pre-school and pioneers to use their sense of sight. As we walked along the path, the children took turns spotting different animals and elements of nature. They joyfully shouted out each time they discovered a bird, a beetle, a deer, sheep, or a frog. When we came across a frog, an adult carefully passed it around so that the children could feel its texture. The children said, “the frog feels sticky!” and an adult prompted them by saying, “What about slimy!” This activity sparked great curiosity and enthusiasm among the children, making it a memorable part of their day.
