A great dental practice is about more than clinical care. It is the confidence, communication and support patients experience from the moment they get in touch.

This National I Love My Dentist Day, we also want to recognise the receptionists, coordinators, administrators and support teams who help keep dental practices running smoothly behind the scenes.

PMA’s Core Skills Programme for Frontline Dental Staff has been designed specifically for non-clinical and patient-facing roles within dental practices. Delivered through flexible online workshops, the programme helps teams strengthen communication, patient support, complaint handling, GDPR awareness, CQC preparation and more, without taking staff away from practice for full days at a time.

June is Men’s Health Month, a reminder that men’s physical and mental wellbeing deserves open conversation, support and attention all year round.

Many men still delay seeking support, talking about stress or prioritising their own health, often balancing work pressures, family responsibilities and busy routines at the same time.

Creating supportive workplaces can make a real difference. Research from LinkedIn Learning found that 94% of employees would stay at a company longer if it invested in their learning and development, highlighting the importance of environments where people feel valued, supported and encouraged to grow.

At PMA, we believe healthier, supported teams create stronger workplaces and better outcomes for everyone.

Investing in leadership development can have a lasting impact, not only for individuals, but for entire teams.

Katie C, Team Leader at Maidenhead PCN, recently completed the PMA Innovative Leader Programme, incorporating the Team Leader/Supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Katie said “I found the content of the course to be engaging, informative, and well structured. The support provided throughout was excellent and, in many ways, more effective and personalised than a traditional classroom setting, allowing me to learn at my own pace while still feeling supported.”

She also highlighted “This course has brought together all of my existing knowledge and helped frame it in a more structured and meaningful way. It has also given me greater confidence in my abilities as a leader and reassured me that I am leading my team effectively and positively.”

For anyone considering the programme, Katie’s advice is “If you are given the opportunity to improve and progress within your career, then take it with both hands. This programme is a valuable experience that helps build confidence, develop leadership skills, and provides practical knowledge that can be applied directly within your role.”
