What a great start to this week - welcoming our new families into school. The classroom was full of excitement as our new children explored and met their new teachers and classmates. See you all again next week. 🙂

A brilliant, brilliant win for our Year 5 boys in their cup quarter final today! Every single one of them was excellent - 10/10, faultless for the whole game!

This now means our Year 5 team, Year 6 team and girls’ team are all in the semi-finals of their respective cups! 🙌🏻

No matter what happens in those semi-finals, it’s a fantastic achievement for a school of our size to reach this stage of the competition and we are incredibly proud of every single player who has represented our school team this year! ⚽️

A busy - but brilliant - week of sport at Alconbury!

On Wednesday, a group of our Year 6 boys went to Peterborough Rugby Club to take part in a series of drills. After this, they then played another school in a game - which we won! The PRUFC coaches were extremely complimentary about our pupils and they all had a great time!

Next, on Thursday, in absolutely awful, torrential weather, our 'B' team took part in a 5-team tournament, finishing 3rd overall. We won our final two games of the tournament and played some great football at times!

Finally, this afternoon, our Y6 girls' football team won their quarter final cup fixture, which means they've now got a semi-final to look forward to! The girls thoroughly deserved their win and showed great teamwork throughout the whole game!

Thank you to all of the parents who have helped with transport this week - it's much appreciated!

Today we were lucky to receive a visit from Brampton Dental Practice. They presented an engaging, interactive and knowledgeable session on how to care for and look after our teeth.

A busy - but brilliant - day of girls’ football today!!

This morning, our Y3/4 girls’ team took part in their first ever tournament together as a team. They were fantastic - winning 5 out of their 7 games and finishing 3rd overall! A brilliant achievement and they were all so proud to win their medals!

Then after school, our Y5/6 team won both of their games in a 3-team tournament; they played well in both games and deserved their victories! ⚽️

What an amazing end to a busy week! Our super FACES team and dedicated staff put on a wonderful colour run which was enjoyed by so many of our children. Thank you to everyone who supported our event.

Year 6 enjoyed a brilliant morning with today’s guest speaker!! Jamie, a former Alconbury Primary School student, very kindly gave up his time to talk to the class about his journey in to acting and the passion he has for the profession. The pupils all really enjoyed the session and throughly enjoyed working with him! 🎬
