This week, Inventors have been exploring our wooden toys. They have been using their creative and imaginative minds to build and construct with. The children created things like “a dinosaur” and “a aeroplane”, and expressed lots of enthusiasm showing their carers what they were making.

Today for our afternoon activity we will be exploring a nature themed tray which includes different types of flowers, leafs, herbs and plants. Explorers will be able to use their senses to smell and feel the different textures with their friends.

Next week, Inventors will be able to explore a dinosaur safari tuff spot. The children have really enjoyed looking at the ‘1, 2, 3, Do the Dinosaur‘ book this week, so this will support their interests further and extend their learning through a fun and creative activity that they can all engage in together.

⭐️ Inventors This week ⭐️

This week Inventors will be able to engage in a tuff spot that will encencourage conversations around transport and what we see on our travels. This will then support communications about our families, and specifically our Daddy’s ready for Father’s Day this Sunday. This week, Inventors will be taking part in various activities that will prepare them in understanding that we will be celebrating our Daddy’s, Grandad’s and other family members who love and care for us this weekend.

✨DISCOVERERS✨

Today Discoverers children have been looking at our key person boxes. All the children were intrigued to see what was inside them. We had various things from family photos, to our favourite candles, & body spray. We also told the children we like going to Disney. These boxes are there for parents to have a look in & take home. We also use these boxes to help children settled into nursery & to get to know their key person. 🎨🐶

Inventors 👑⭐️🇬🇧🫖☕️

This week, the children will be able to explore a very exciting tuff spot alongside their peers. We have provided Inventors with resources that will get them thinking and talking about upcoming events regarding The Queen and her Jubilee. The children have already been talking about celebrations and parties, and this tuff spot will further support their interests in learning about that. Their fine motor skills will be encouraged as they use red, white and blue objects to create pictures with their friends.

This week Discoverers will be getting ready to celebrate the Queens Jubilee. We have created the Untied Kingdom flag using red, white and blue coloured rice. The children will be able to talk about the different colours they can see. As well as using their schemas of transporting and rotating to tip and pour the rice using different utensils and containers.

Inventors Next Week

Next week to begin celebrating The Queen’s Jubilee, Inventors will be able to have a tea party with their teddies in the tuff spot. Carers have provided a variety of objects and resources for the children to interact with. This will support the children with their understanding about the upcoming events, and with their social skills and their relationships with their peers.

As part of our Jubilee provocation activity we enjoyed painting some rocks for our garden in the colours red, white and blue. We all had lots of fun feeling the texture of the paint and talking with carer about the colours we were using.

Inventors room - shaving foam play 🦒🐘🦓🐏🐄

Inventors have enjoyed shaving foam play this week. They have been using the foam to clean the animals, and create marks using their fingers. They have been developing their mathematical skills drawing numbers and shapes. Some children have also been practicing their letter formation as well.

Inventors (30-42m)

In the tuff spot this week, Inventors will be able to explore the farm yard alongside their peers. The tuff spot will encourage conversations around our favourite animals and what we see at the farm. The children will also be able to role play inside the farm house, and feel textures including the leaves and the sensory mats.

Next week to follow on from our interest throughout nursery play we are going to have a Jungle themed tuff tray. This will allow the children to ask questions, make comparisons and find out more about different animals around the world and where they live.

Inventors have enjoyed doing some colour mixing in the tuff spot, we picked two colours each to mix together to see what new colours we can make 😃 The children enjoyed watching the colours change and if they were light or dark. Come and join in the fun 🤩

This morning Discoverers have been using their fine motor skills & their hand eye coordination to hammer the pins into the different colourful shapes. We spoke about the different colours & shapes we saw on the table, before counting the shapes onto the board. ‘Yellow circle’ ‘ it’s a square’.

Discoverers (18-30 months)
Today discoverers have been creating their own ’tea & coffee’ using cold water. They took it in turns to scoop out their desire taste, before pouring the water out of the tea pot into their cup. We used good hand eye coorcoordination whilst holding the tea pot. Come & Join the fun in Discoverers.

Inventors class -30-42 months-

Today Inventors have enjoyed using a couple of different activities, we have used the screw block boards with some elastic bands, this has encouraged their fine motor skills by stretching the bands across and over the screws. The children counted how many bands they used and what colours they were. We have also used some spanner and nuts, using the spanner to twist the nuts across the pole. The children had lots of fun doing both activities, focusing on their fine motor skills as well as some counting for maths🔢

Discoverers class 18/30 months
This morning discoverers have been planting daffodil bulbs. The children took it in turns to scoop and pour the soil from the bucket to the plant pot, showing good hand eye coordination. We then each placed a bulb into the plant pot and all used our single words and sentences to talk about what we could see, “mud”, “flower”, “flowers will grow”.
Discoverers will now water the bulbs each day and watch how they grow.

📚📚📚📚 WORLD BOOK DAY📚📚📚📚📚📚

Discoverers class 18/30 months have had a a fun filled day. we shared books with their peers and listening to the story of the very hungry caterpillar. Discoverers made their own caterpillars using pipe cleaners and cheerios and have played with balloons naming the colours.

This afternoon Discoverers enjoyed playing with the play dough making pancakes using lots of different props and recourses The children was able to identify some of the favourite pan cake toppings while making there own. 🥞🍓🍋😊

This week Explorers will be exploring our ‘Zoo themed’ tuff spot. The children will have the opportunity to explore the different textures from the cornflakes, to the sequin grass, to the mirror as water. Come & join the fun in explorers.🐵🦁🐯

Innovators (36+ months)

This afternoon Innovators have been practising their fine motor skills by using the spanners. They each took it in turns to move the bolts and could even change the size of the spanner to match the size of the bolt. 🔧🛠🔩

Eco Activity - Waste (Discoverers class 18-30 months)

As part of our week two Eco activities on waste today we have looked at recycling and using recycled materials to make our own creations. All of Discoverers class were excited to join in with the activity and enjoyed using tape to fix all the items together. We spoke about how different items can be reused to make others and that we dont just need to throw away ’rubbish’.
