St Mary’s Nursery Group At St Mary’s nursery we provide care for children aged 2 1/2 - 4 between the hours of 8:00-5:00 😃

The Nursery Group was established in 1982; however we have only occupied the current premises since 2001. St Mary's Nursery Group is a member of the PLA (Pre School Learning Alliance) and is also a registered charity run by a voluntary board of trustees. Information about the trustees and how to become a member is displayed on the notice board within the nursery premises. We recruit our staff care

fully and ensure that we employ the correct people to care for your children. We ensure our staff are highly skilled and committed and that they work very hard to provide your child with the very best early years experiences and learning opportunities. We carry out Criminal Records Bureau checks on all of our staff members. The nursery works in partnerships with St Mary's CE Primary School and is also very fortunate to be able to use some of the school's facilities with the nursery children. Please note that we welcome children that go on to any school in the area. At St Mary's Nursery Group we believe that parents/carers are paramount in their child's welfare and Early Years education. What another busy week we’ve had, the children have thoroughly enjoyed our core story this week ‘superworm’, creating their own colourful version whilst talking about what happens within the story looking at our recall. We’ve had different maths games where we matched the number of colour drops to the petal leaves along with the stock check game where we looked at how many bugs we need for example and had to check if we had the correct amount to go along with this.

Wednesday we had a lovely visit from Toby as usual teaching us new skills in martial arts and a game of duck duck goose to finish the session off ☺️

It’s been a busy week and St Mary’s nursery! We’ve looked at number recognition in our own bingo games, name recognition and name practice!
We’ve had a lovely visit from Mrs Tann, singing and movement sessions.
In food explorers we made Halloumi fries in food explorers which were very yummy😋

Happy first week back 🤩

When the children came back to nursery they noticed that our Butterflies finally came out of their Chrysalis! We all went outside and set them free ready to make friends and see new places 🦋

We’ve made soil playdough, we’ve made our own postcards and posted them into our nursery postbox and we’ve had a lovely visit from Mrs Tann doing lots of musical movements ☺️

What a busy week we’ve had!! We’ve had lots of fun doing yoga games where we practiced our new poses we learnt over the last term, we made our own biscuits which the children thoroughly enjoyed and we’ve had lovely visits from Toby in martial arts but also Mrs Tann our music lady ☺️

What a week!!! We’ve made fabulous pizzas, we’ve even had a lovely visit from Miss Thomas who taught the children (as well as the ladies) some line dancing which we all absolutely loved! The children had their creative hats on this week thinking about they could do that’s different such as recycle painting, building a new marble run and building construction planks using the same patterns ☺️

This week the children had lots fun of fun painting to ‘nursery techno’ where we danced to music and painted to the beat, we drew our own boat from captain sparkle beard and coloured it in, we’ve been on number hunts and made our own bread which where we learnt new vocabulary such as, kneading, expansion, yeast and ferment☺️
