It’s panto day 🎉 see you at 9:45 😃

A huge thank you to all our parents, friends and families for all your assistance with our fundraising this term!
We raised £690.50 at our Christmas fayre! Which is amazing as we were able to buy a new sensory tent and light, pay the remaining balance off our shed and have got some money towards our next items!
On the wishlist are sensory items for our quiet room and an outdoor library! 📚
*REMINDER*
All children to come to nursery in nativity clothes tomorrow ready for the dress rehearsal

Today we had a lovely winter walk around Albrighton and we saw so many exciting things along the way. There was a cement truck emptying cement into the wheelbarrow to help the builders build a new floor, we visited the local hardware shop and bought some seed to feed the birds, we guessed that it would be six pennies and we were almost right (it was £6) after that we stopped at the co-op and learnt about how to draw money from the cashpoint before heading to the duck pond to feed some very hungry ducks their breakfast! On the way back to nursery we saw 2 bin lorries and a traffic jam, it was very exciting, we thought at this point we perhaps deserved a little treat for such good walking and listening that we stopped at the cafe for a cheeky hot chocolate before heading back to our nursery for our lunch! What an exciting day!

This morning we have explored numicon!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Christmas Fayre, helped and donated! We had a wonderful time and we hope you did too!

Congratulations to Ms Whitehouse who made the closest guess to the weight of the cake 🎂 enjoy 😋

Congratulations to Evie who correctly guessed that the teddy bear was called Buzz 🐻

🤩 we have been busy this morning! The children have made gingerbread men and decorated them. They look so yummy! Come and see us tomorrow from 3:30pm tomorrow, our gingerbread men will be on sale 🤩

Please pop down and see us!
We have a fantastic raffle (see pictures for prices) if anyone would like any raffle tickets please get in touch 😀
We are collecting bottles for our tombola at the Christmas fayre on Friday 25th November 😃 if you have any bottles you can donate we would very much appreciate them 😃 the collection box will be outside the nursery all next week 🍾
Reminder - spots and/or stripes dress up for children in need tomorrow 😃

Today our nursery rhyme is “B I N G O” so we are having a Bingo Buffet in food explorers!

Today at nursery we have been practising road safety 🚗 Ask your child if they can remember the rules for crossing the road safely 🚦

Remembrance Day activities. We planted poppy seeds, made playdough poppies, painted poppies and watched a short remembrance video on CBeebies.

My First Festivals - Remembrance Day
I just want to share how amazingly the children sat today for their two minute silence whilst we thought about how brave the soldiers were who went to fight in the war. There is a video on CBeebies that delicately introduces the children to what Remembrance Day is if you wanted to watch it at home with your child.

Open to all 🤩 please share 😊

A fun filled week at nursery, we’ve enjoyed a potion party, pumpkin fun, exploring bonfire night and fireworks.

What a wonderful potion party 🎉

Huge thank you to all the parents and little ones who attended our “spooky walk” this evening! And a massive thank you to all our families giving out sweets and our local businesses too!! Clare the Parish clerk at Albrighton Parish Council, The Midcounties Co-operative Next Door Bar and 1st Albrighton Scout Group! We had an amazing time!

Happy Diwali 🎆🎇
The nursery is now closed for the half term and will reopen on Monday 31st October. Have a great week everyone 😄

Thank you everyone for a great open day! Lovely to see all the little faces!

This morning we explored one of our gardens, we talked about what we have already and what we love about it.
We also discussed what things we might like to add.
We had some great ideas and reasonings like, “a cow because we drink so much milk at nursery”, “a goat so we don’t have to cut the grass”, “a popcorn machine for when we get hungry” and “a hot tub for when we get cold”.
Some great ideas shared and listened too.

What a lovely autumn week we have had!

A fun filled couple of weeks and this mornings outing, taking our harvest festival donations to or local food bank and then went on a nature walk and found all sorts of autumnal things such as acorns and conkers.

It’s never the wrong weather here at St Mary’s Nursery ☔️ Puddle suits and wellies on and into the garden we go 😁

We had a little visit from environmental health today and we are pleased to report our 5* rating 🍽️

This morning we went on a hunt for ‘autumn treasure’. We had a great time looking for leaves, pine cones and acorns, then this afternoon we used our finds to make some beautiful collages.
You could maybe do this activity at home, look around your garden or whilst on a walk for signs of autumn, collect some ‘treasure’ and then make some beautiful artwork.

Another great week had by all ☺️
Rest in peace, Your Majesty 👑

A fun filled week this week.
Learning about ourselves, those around us and those important to us. We have explored our differences, why we are unique and what makes us, us!
We have talked about our families, who we live with and extended families whilst compared our families and pets.
In food explorers this week we made rice cake faces, in garden club we planted some holly hock seeds that one of the children kindly bought in for us and we have finished the week off with some yoga this morning which was fabulous!
Our story this week has been - Owl babies, written by Martin Waddell.
Have a great weekend, nursery re-opens Tuesday 20th ☀️

This morning we had a return to yoga and learned three staple poses: Downward Facing Dog pose, Tabletop and Cat/Cow pose. We all had lots of fun, woke up our muscles and practised using our listening skills. Our yoga stars were Bradley for super listening and Betty for a fantastic Downward Facing dog pose! ⭐️🧘🏼♂️🧘🏽♀️⭐️
Just a reminder that yoga this year will run on a week one/week two basis. On week one yoga is on a Monday in the school hall and on week two yoga is on a Friday at the nursery. Next week is week one. Please ensure your child is wearing appropriate comfortable clothing and shoes that your child can remove and put back on by themselves.

Today we’ve talked about the change in our monarchy, we coloured pictures of the late Queen Elizabeth and looked at pictures and discussed our new King, Charles lll 👑
A reminder that we will be closed on Monday 19th September for the Queen’s funeral.
