Can’t believe another year has gone and I’ve now been childminding for 7️⃣years 😮. So much for only doing it until Dylan went to school 😂😂.
I never knew I’d love my job as much as I do or I’d have done it years ago.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me over the years and all my fantastic children/parents 😁I wouldn’t be where I am just now if it wasn’t for you all 😊💕
Here’s to many more years 🐝🐝

Still stand for this, if anyone needs childcare cover to get it done don’t hesitate to drop me a message💞

Good luck to everyone tomorrow ❣️

Immediate space available:)

🐝As most of you are aware I have been working through this pandemic with key children and introduced many new routines in my "very good" setting🐝.

I hope this post reassures all families who may be worried about children returning. Whom I have missed very much and understand that my top priority is keeping everyone safe and well❤️

🐝I aim to provide an exceptionally high standard of care and education for children aged 0-4, and when required, also for children aged 3-11. All funding accepted🐝

🐝I have tried to photograph every area to give you a ‘virtual tour experience’ so that you can see what a beautifully safe, clean, engaging and welcoming environment i have to offer for our children📸

🙏Just like many small businesses I have been hit hard by the Covid-19 closure and am now looking to secure bookings with new families to ensure future sustainability my setting as not all of our families are ready to send their children back straight away we may be able to offer places immediately🙏

👍So PLEASE support me by sharing this post, give it a like and tag your friends👍

✅I have put extra measures in place as per government advice, children have a large amount of space available here, so i will try and naturally distance them and spend as much time as possible enjoying the outdoors, although early years providers are not expected to enforce social distancing between small children as it would have a negative effect on their emotional wellbeing✅

🧼Children will be washing hands on arrival, I am being extra rigorous with cleaning, asking parents not to enter my home until further notice, and to keep at least 2 metres away from other parents when dropping off and collecting children🧼

🐝I have removed excessive resources and some soft furnishings, and packed away equipment not often used. I haven’t stripped the place bare as the children would certainly not thrive, and the happiness and wellbeing of every child is always paramount to me🌻

Please check out our outside area as this is where most of our fun takes place 😁

Hope to see and hear from u all soon

🐝 Good morning everyone

I feel I am now compelled to post this since the outbreak of COVID-19 has now reached Scotland.

Regular hand washing and good personal hygiene takes place in my setting, however I will be installing a hand sanitizer at the door and arranging an at the door policy to reduce traffic in my home.

As a childminder I have the health and welfare of my children and their families to be concerned about as well as my family.

Please have a look at the guidelines below, should you have any concerns, please contact me for further information.

The common cold is also doing its rounds so please have a look at the final photo for reference.

I will be contacting parents should their children display yellow/red signs and are not settling, as I have a duty to ensure other children don’t get sick or upset.

Toys are disinfected every night and soft toys washed twice weekly, for those of you who have enquired.

Thank you

🐝🐝Children who are 3 before 28th February 2021
MUST apply by 13th March🐝🐝

Pop along with any questions and some reassurance that you CAN apply to split your child’s funded hours, giving them the opportunity to attend a childminder who offers a more flexible approach and homely environment 🥰

At the moment children who currently attend nursery will be receiving a letter advising what hours the nursery will offer from August & asking you to select which option suits you best. Please remember this is 'Your Choice' do not allow the nursery to force you into choosing something that doesn't suit your needs and you don't need to complete this. You can complete a whole new application form from next week and select the term time option and the same hours as you currently have or request others.

Also remember you can choose to use a Childminder or split care between both

The choice is yours!!

Any questions please just ask and I will do my best to help 😊

#parentsrighttochoose #1140hours

To ALL parents that have a child ready to start the new 1140 funded hours in August.
PLEASE think about what you want for your child at age 3 & 4 years old. Just now most children are used to attending nursery 5 days per week for 3 hours and starting this August that will double to 6 hours per day!
Did you know you DON’T need to apply for double with the same setting!

You can have MORE Flexibility using your 1140 funded hours, the council state on their web page that they have always offered some flexibility around how hours are used. But with entitlement almost doubling there may be more scope to offer the pattern that works best for you and your child. They are currently in the process of looking at how this will work across council nursery settings.

So some children may attend over 5 school day slots during term time whilst others may have fewer longer sessions each week or the entitlement might be spread throughout the calendar year. They are currently finalising the models and will be able to offer across a range of nursery establishments. They will make the information available on their site as soon as they have it.

You may choose to split your hours across more than one funded provider. So, for example, you may wish your child to remain at a private nursery for some of the time whilst also attending some sessions at your local school nursery. Or perhaps you might have a childminder or want to contact a childminder to see if they have availability for your child full time or split care with a nursery setting. Provided there is availability you will be allowed to split your hours across a maximum of two providers. A list of funded providers will be available with the new application forms coming out soon all you need to do it think before you fill it in what’s best for your child or your working day and look to see what a childminder does and can offer your child as I also work to provide the National curriculum for early years covering
communication and language,
physical development,
personal social and emotional development,literacy,mathematics,understanding the world and expressive arts and design.

I hope this information help you select a provider that works for your family thanks Elizabeth 🐝

Merry Christmas everyone 🎅🏻

Today’s adventure 🙂 we where all about taking risks today 😛

Risk taking is an important part of childhood. It helps with cognitive, emotional and social development.

However, as adults we’re often afraid to release control over our children’s welfare in order that children can access these benefits.

Risk taking is generally associated with outdoor play-based learning.

In the outdoors we have less control over the conditions of children’s play environments. There are sharp, dangerous, tricky obstacles that children need to navigate in outdoor environments that we remove from inside spaces.

As parents and educators, we need to start thinking about how we can encourage measured risk-taking so that we can tap into the amazing benefits of risk taking in early childhood. So, in this post I’ll outline the top benefits children receive from risky play.

Why Outdoor Play-Based Learning?

Play-based learning has been a fundamental feature of sociocultural models of learning and teaching. Educators like Vygotsky and Reggio Emilia believed that play helped children to develop socially and cognitively.

Here’s some benefits of play:

⚫️Children can use their imagination to develop knowledge and understanding of the world;
⚫️Children learn by ‘doing’ rather than observing or being told, which can enhance understanding;
⚫️Children actively discover new things about themselves and their environments;
⚫️Children talk to one another during play, which helps language development;
⚫️Children’s socialization during play can lead to enhanced social skills such as negotiation, self-expression and sharing

Outdoor play adds that extra element of risk. Indoors we can control the environment. We can make sure the floors are soft, the doors are locked and there aren’t any loose objects or sticks that have blown in with the wind.

Here’s some specific benefits of outdoor play:

⚫️The freedom to explore;
⚫️Opportunities to make unique, authentic discoveries of new objects, bugs and landscapes;
⚫️The chance to manipulate natural objects and turn them into play tools;
⚫️First-hand learning about weather, seasons and the natural world.

Early Learning & Childcare in North Lanarkshire

North Lanarkshire Council have been making rapid progress in a range of areas at the moment with regards to ALL 3 and 4 years olds and eligible 2 year olds that will be entitled to 1,140 hours of free childcare per year from August 2020.

It will be possible to use these hours in a variety of ways, whatever pattern suiting you best, you might want to just use all the funding with one provider (nursery or childminder) or split your hours across more than one funded provider. So, for example, you may wish your child to attend a private nursery or council nursery for some of the time whilst also attending a childminding setting if they have availability, you will be allowed to split your hours across a maximum of two providers and decide how you want these split if you so wish.

Some childminders are already offering a funded spaces within there service this started from Aug 2019 as a trial period and this has shown a great improvement for parents financial situations.

This link has gone live today with some information and will be updated regularly.

elcnorthlanarkshire.scot The Scottish Government announced plans to expand Early Learning and Childcare across Scotland in 2016. A Blueprint for 2020 sets out plans to almost double early learning and childcare entitlement (from 600 to 1140 hours per year) for all 3 and 4 year olds and eligible 2 year olds in 2020. Government funding is changing

I have recently received my confirmation email regarding the new 1140 fully government funded hours !!

📍As from August 2019 all Childminders on the list can provide the full 1140 hours or blended care with nursery(hours/days to suit you) this is for all 3-5 year olds.......if you would like to enquire about availability or more Information feel free to drop me a message 😁😁

Why choose a Registered Childminder for your FREE funded childcare hours that will start from August 2019 for ALL 3-5 year olds?

As a local Registered Childminder I offer a unique, flexible childcare service that hopes to be included in the NLC expansion program, where you can use all your 1140 allocated hours within my childcare service or we can offer a blended care module, where you will be able to use your nursery placement as normal 3 hours 10 minutes per day, 5 days a week = 600 hours term time and use my service before and or after nursery for the remaining 540 hours split into your childcare needs, using up to 8 hours per day combined with the nursery, term time only, any additional hours needed will be paid by the parent.

My availability is limited, so if you are not successful within my service there will be many local childminders included in this tender process so you will have plenty other options available for your childcare needs.

Thanks for taking the time to read and share my post, this new proposal will benefit all working families.
