Celebrating Father's Day today with 'Doughnuts for Dads'!

Construction

Last week our Willows used their interest of construction to continue their learning on maths language. Maths language includes words more, less, big and small.

The children enjoyed scooping, filling containers, playing with blocks and trucks to help with their learning!

Monkey Puzzle

Last week we explored one of our favourite stories; 'Monkey Puzzle' by Julia Donaldson.

The children enjoyed a range of activities based on the animals in the story; from tuff trays and singing to role playing animals with masks!

Keeping everyone safe is a top priority at Dawny's. That's why we practice fire drills every month, ensuring all our team members and children know exactly what to do in the event of an emergency evacuation!

Emotions & Colours

Last week our Chestnuts were learning about colours and emotions.

They talked about colours and how they made them feel. They enjoyed incorporating 'The Colour Monster' and signing the colours too!

We are incredibly proud to share that Louise, our Nursery Manager, is now a published co-author! 🎉

Her new book, 'Being with Babies', explores how we can create a true sense of belonging in the early years — supporting babies to feel safe, connected, and valued from the very beginning.

The book will be available to order from 29/05/2026, and we can’t wait to celebrate this fantastic achievement with her. Congratulations, Louise!

Dinosaurs!

Our babies have had lots of fun with a dinosaur theme last week.

The was a range of activities where the children explored different textures and also enjoyed a stamping paint activity where the babies made pictures from placing the dinosaurs feet in the paint and mark making on the paper.

Next week we are fundraising for Crohn's & Colitis UK by celebrating World IBD day!

The theme is bravery so we will be participating in superhero dress up and the lots of purple themed activities, there's also going to be yummy cakes for sale!

People Who Help Us

Last week our Chestnuts enjoyed the topic of People Who Help Us. They loved role playing doctors, nurses and firefighters and enjoyed creating their very own x-rays and fire fighting tuff tray!
