Welcome to Dawny's Nursery & Pre-School, we are a private and independent children’s nursery located in Addlestone (Next to Chertsey Fire Station), Surrey. We are a nursery for ages 3 months to 5 years, open from 7:30 to 18:30, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year.

🌟Activity of the Week 🌟

Play Dough Emotions

Last week our Maples made different emotion faces with play dough. They discussed different emotions and how they were feeling and what makes them feel that emotion.

This activity helps promote personal, social and emotional development.

🌟Activity of the Week 🌟

Bubbles

Last week our babies loved playing with bubbles in the free flow. The children used their fine and gross motor skills to catch and pop the bubbles. They were also developing their communication and language by trying to say words like pop and bubbles!

For this year’s summer fundraiser, we will be raising money for Little Roo Neonatal Fund. Little Roo is based at St. Peter’s Hospital and care for babies born prematurely or with unexpected problems.

Our fundraiser will be taking place w/c 17th August 2026.

We will be completing a combined sponsored walk across our six rooms of 1.6miles (the distance between nursery and St. Peter’s Hospital). The walk will take place in the nursery grounds/Abby Rangers and each room will complete a 430 meter walk across the week.

We are also very excited to be hosting a silent auction with some great prizes up for grabs, donated by local businesses and attractions. Prizes include tickets to Bocketts Farm, salon vouchers and books from Waterstones.

Sponsorship forms are attached or available in the nursery entrance; please can all sponsors be returned to the nursery by Monday 24th August 2026.

Silent auction slips will be available in the nursery entrance from 17th August for that week. Winning bids will be contacted w/c 24th August, and payment will be asked to be received by Monday 31st August.

🌟Activity of the Week 🌟

Sand Play

Last week our Maples enjoyed playing in their sand tray. They used their fine motor skills to pinch small amounts of sand and placing it in the scoops. The children also enjoyed scooping up the sand into containers and pouring it back out.

On Friday, we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon celebrating our 2026 graduates!

Children, staff and parents came together to enjoy games, food and special presentations. We are incredibly proud of our Class of 2026 and all they have achieved.

We wish each and every one of you the very best as you begin your exciting school journey. Good luck, Class of 2026!

Calling Book Characters

Last week our Maples managed to find telephone numbers for some of our favourite book characters!

The children enjoyed reciting the numbers on the cards and dialling them on role play phones before talking to the characters!

🌟Activity of the Week 🌟

Counting/Numbers

Last week Willows were working on their numbers and counting.

During circle time they explored numbers 1-5 by singing songs, they encouraged number recognition with flashcards and practiced counting using our fingers!
