Today we were delighted to welcome back John Handford OG'75 and Robert Price OG'75 for a trip down memory lane at St George's.

John has visited recently and was keen to bring his good friend Robert back to the College. Robert had not been inside St George's since his wedding in the Chapel many years ago.

During their visit, we were thrilled to find Robert's name proudly displayed in recognition of his time as House Captain of Fisher House. It was wonderful to hear their stories and memories of life at St George's, with Robert recalling so many details from his time here.

It is always a pleasure to welcome Old Georgians back to St George's and hear the memories and stories they cherish from their time here.

As Rachel leaves St George’s after ten years of leadership, we thank her for everything she has contributed to our community and wish her every happiness and success in the next chapter.

Ten years ago, Rachel Owens arrived at St George’s College on GCSE Results Day. Today, another Results Day – and the best-ever GCSE results in the College’s history – brings her ten academic years as Headmistress to a close.

Since 2016, Rachel has led St George’s through a decade of growth, achievement, celebration and challenge, always with an unwavering commitment to our students and to the values at the heart of our Georgian community.

It seems entirely fitting that her final day should be spent as her first was: with students, staff and families, celebrating young people and all that they have achieved.

Thank you, Rachel, for ten remarkable years and for everything you have given St George’s.

More sporting success for our Old Georgians 😀. We’re incredibly proud to share that Barnaby “Barney” Doyle (OG ’25), representing the U19 GB Rowing squad, has won two gold medals 🥇racing in their 8+ at the Coupe de la Jeunesse in Lucerne, Switzerland. A fantastic achievement - congratulations, Barney.
