Good luck to our College student Oliver who has been chosen to accompany the England Rugby team onto the pitch at the World Cup England vs. Chilie match on Saturday afternoon at 4.45pm.🏴
Oliver was selected from thousands of entries in a global competition run by the team sponsor Land Rover titled "Defenders of Tomorrow", a programme that aims to inspire future generations to effect meaningful change on and off the pitch.🌏
Oliver's video entry eloquently described his weekly meetings with the elderly community through the College's SVP club. He shares how these interactions allow him to connect with the past by hearing their stories, offering him a unique perspective on history. He believes that this insight into the past is a valuable tool for shaping a brighter future.⭐
Well done Oliver, we are all so proud of you, enjoy your moment at the match on Saturday!🏉

Mr Antony Hudson announces his retirement after an outstanding 20 years as Headmaster at St George's Junior School.
As we approach the start of a new academic year, we have some important St George’s news to share.
Mr Antony Hudson, our Junior School Headmaster, has announced that he will be retiring in two years’ time. His announcement comes as he celebrates 20 outstanding years in post, and we’re sure you’ll join us in extending our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mr Hudson for his dedicated service.
Mr Denis Nowlan, Chair of Governors, shared the news by email with parents yesterday, and which you can also read in full on our website here: https://www.stgeorgesweybridge.com/news/37.
Within his letter, Denis movingly wrote: “Antony’s Headship has been characterised by his total dedication to pupil well-being, giving each child a sense – in the Josephite, Catholic tradition – of ‘coming home to school’. On behalf of the whole Board of Governors, I wish to record our heartfelt gratitude and admiration.”
St George’s have engaged Perrett Laver, an outstanding executive search agency, to support the search for a successor and anticipate an appointment by July 2024.
It's back to the early - mid 80s this week on Way Back Wednesday. Is there a Georgian era that you would like us to feature? If so, please let us know and we will see what we can do.

The new Sixth Form Journal, Labor Amoris is out now. Congratulations to our students on a fantastic publication.
Our latest edition of Labor Amoris, our Sixth Form Journal created by students, was launched last night at our Scholar's Fair. It features articles written by students from the fourth year to Lower Sixth Form, raging across a broad spectrum of topics including climate, culture, language and literature, politics and STEM, illustrated with stunning artwork from our talented art students, and it's a beautiful piece of work.

From our major projects, like the Ground Source Heat Pump and the introduction of Solar Panels, to LED light installations and using unbleached paper, we are constantly looking at how we can make improvements. 🍍🌍🍍
