Following several weeks of exploring fungi and learning how and where to find them, we took the children Forestschooling to local parks to search for and discover fungi in real-life.

Yesterday, we had an amazing moment at the nursery.
The children observed a bumblebee collecting pollen from a dandelion. We were able to observe the bumblebee closely and talk about its body parts. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to have a bumblebee so focused on its task while being observed so closely.
The dandelion was brought into nursery in the morning as a gift by a child.

Our Forest School session, last Tuesday. The children were able to venture into the park and explore the forestry area.

They were also throwing pieces of ice in the frozen pond to experiment with the force it takes to break the ice.

We also observed the structure of the building using the language of shapes.

We are starting to celebrate Halloween.

Our forest school session this Thursday.

The children were challenged to stay safe while playing hide and seek in some park of the park.
We had our usual Forest School hot chocolate by the log, then we explored the change of nature with the falls.
A squirrel wasn't afraid to eat its finding near the children, who were very observant.

Today, the beautiful weather allowed us to explore our natural habitat. The children loved looking around the pond for the minibeasts.

We also collected natural resources and took on the challenge to recreate shapes using what we found.

Another of the key aims of our forest school session today was to work collaboratively. The children enjoyed competing in their teams but most importantly they remembered to congratulate our winning friends.

Lets celebrate our main nursery 10th anniversary.

Hi all,

This year we are celebrating our Tenth Anniversary. To mark this auspicious occasion, we will be hosting a Spring Fair. We would like to invite all families, past and present, along to have a fun morning together. There will be a Mini Train around the garden, a magician, face painting, music, a cafe, and free Prosecco!

For those of you who fancy themselves as bakers, we will be holding our 'Fifth Annual Garden Nursery Bake Off' event in the marquee! So get the measuring scales out and have a bash. The winner as always will receive the prestigious "Claire Nosworthy Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Baking".

Thanks to all of you who have helped make the past decade such a success. We would love to see as many of you as possible, so please come along and have fun with us.

Pancake day 😋
The children prepared the pancake dough in the morning and enjoyed their delicious pancake cooked on the fire in the afternoon.
