After graduating from Durham University with a first class degree, I decided to train to become a maths teacher. I enjoyed two successful placements at two outstanding high schools culminating in me qualifying as an outstanding teacher of mathematics (QTS) and attaining a distinction in my PGCE. ***SCHOOL CLOSURES ***

If you’re wanting a bit of a break from home schooling and feel your child(ren) could do with some input from a qualified maths teacher, I have increased availability for individualised and interactive one to one tuition for primary and secondary ages.

Sessions will be online via whichever platform you prefer (Skype, Zoom, Microsoft teams, Google Meet, FaceTime) and can be weekly/fortnightly to help keep up with the curriculum or stand alone sessions to support with a particular topic.

If you’re interested, I’d love to hear from you - please get in touch. 👩🏼‍🏫 ➕➖✖️➗

Many will be experiencing the ‘back to school’ feeling today as they begin half term 2. The start of a new term is always a great opportunity to knuckle down and do all you can to achieve the results you’re aspiring for. We’re already more than one sixth of the way through the academic year! Time flies so act now rather than later.

Here we go with the answer. Moving one unit from the 23 and placing it horizontally across the two units on the right hand side of the equals to form a pi sign makes 22 divided by 7 which equals 3.142.... which rounds to 3.14 to 2 decimal places: same as the most common rounding of pi. It is only true(ish) as pi is infinite.
