D Day 6th June 1944

Remembering my Father Thomas W. Fielden, a young man in his early 20's who was storming the beaches of Normandy this day 6th June 1944. he was in the second wave of soldiers landing on Sword Beach, He had been fighting in North Africa before being brought back to England to prepare for the Invasion of France. He fought through France & Belgium (being wounded) soon back in the ranks to fight through Holland, being selected for Operation Market Garden (Arnhem), breaking his leg in Parachute Training (probably saved his life) and right into Germany being at the liberation of Belsen..
He always said he had not lived an interesting life, just an ordinary working man but I bet he did things, & saw things that only a few people experience in their life's
