What an amazing week we’ve had. Beyond chick fun we’ve celebrated a special birthday, bounced away at wacky world, practiced our letter recognition whilst learning about animals and their habitats at the zoo, met up with friends at soft play and of course our usual classes, arts & crafts and messy play fun at home 🥰 all of the children achieved new milestones in swimming and gymnastics and I’m so proud of how brave they are and how they persevere 😍

The baby chicks have left the building, what an amazing experience 🥹

The children have loved having them, helping to care for them and they all did so well handling them gently. They learned all about the life cycle of a hen, and recreated their own life cycle pictures, made their own chicks out of different shapes, and practiced basic maths using different baby chick pictures. School ready children have been learning the “ch” phoneme and learning packs have been filled with chick goodness.

We’ll definitely do this again!

We’ve had a wonderful half term, can’t wait to welcome back our term time friends and we have some very exciting special guests next week too 🥰

Due to some of our wonderful little friends starting new adventures at big school, I have spaces available in July / September in my nurturing, home-from-home setting, where children learn indoors & out through play, exploration and real-world experiences.

I have specialist training in water safety, child development & neuroscience, Hygge, phonics, early maths and more, plus upcoming endorsed outdoor first aid and outdoor food safety training.

HOW CUTE are these Halloween peg dolls from Lil' Fairies 😍

We also said goodbye to the first ever fully fledged member of the Monkey Tree family at the beginning of September and that needed a post of it’s own - one that I’ve been too emotional to bring myself to write 🙈

A little old man with huge bundles of energy who, on his very first day, told me off because my toilet roll was on the holder “wrong” 😂 who made every one of us belly laugh every single day and whose engineer brain has never ceased to amaze me since I met him! (And I’m not afraid to admit even taught me a thing or two, at the age of 4!)

Saying goodbye was such a bittersweet feeling! I will never forget this amazing little boy who’s been such a big part of Monkey Tree and always will be, and we all miss him so much, but he was SO ready for his new big adventure at big school 🥰

Of course he got a Spider-Man cake and toy on his last day, and of course there were lots of tears too 🥺

Despite being quiet on social media, the days certainly weren’t quiet at Monkey Tree in September! We’ve been so busy getting to know each other better, welcoming new friends and enjoying playing and learning together indoors and out 🥰

My own child started a new big, unique and very personal adventure of her own, and is doing amazing, smashing life! And as if she didn’t have a busy enough social life, I may need a nanny for all these birthday parties and events she has coming up!

This job really does take over every aspect of your life (good thing I love it so much!) and even when Monkey Tree is “closed”, I’m always working behind the scenes, training, planning, cleaning, or generally thinking about work. So I’ve been taking back some much needed free time for myself and my family too.
