This is a beautiful message: that we should love and care for everyone. I think you will enjoy this reading of the book, ‘God’s Dream’, which is one of those books written for children, that is really for people of every age. I hope you all have fun, relaxation and lots of love this half term break. Deacon Kathy x ✝️❤️🕊
Hello from Deacon Kathy! Here’s a great Origami (paper-folding) rose, which some of you might like to make for someone you love. All you need is a small square of card for each rose and a cocktail stick. (Keep the stick away from your eyes and away from pre-school aged children). With Valentine’s Day tomorrow and Mothering Sunday on 14th March, you could start practising today and have a beautiful gift ready for that special person 💕 ❤️🥰
Here is the link to our church-school Nativity video. Our Sunday Club families tell the Christmas Story, whilst our school classes lead the prayers and singing. Well done everyone! A Very Merry Christmas to you all and Please Keep Safe over the holidays x 👏✝️❤️🕊🎅🌟🤴🎁😇

[09/10/21]   Sad news that our lovely lollipop lady outside the Roebuck finishes at the end of this month, that means until a replacement is found the crossing will be unmanned.
If you are interested in the position have a look on Lancashire County Council job vacancies site next week for details on how to apply.
Please note this is NOT a school vacancy.

Year 6 spent some time in church today, reflecting on their years at Rishton Methodist Primary and thinking about the qualities they take with them, as they move on to new adventures. Each class member chose a jewel to keep, as a reminder that they are precious and wonderful. They then chose a shell each, an ancient Christian symbol of going out on mission, as a reminder that they are stepping out into new and exciting things. Finally, each of us ‘lit’ an electric candle and thought of our own prayer for the coming year, as we made a cross shape with the lights. We finished with a song that assured us, ‘God Is With Us Wherever We Go’. It was such a privilege to spend this special moment with Year Six! Thank you all, for your thoughtful participation. May God bless you all richly in the coming year. Deacon Kathy x

You may be aware that June is Pride Month and as part of our PSHE work and work on British Values each class will be holding a "Pride Day" this week.

Pride month is about teaching tolerance, education in pride history and continuing to move forward in equality.

Below is a list of what each class will be doing.

FS - Using the book Part of the Party and celebrating differences within our community.

Year 1 - Using the book Part of the Party, discussing how families can be different and creating a class recipe for a special family.

Year 2 - using the book Part of the Party, exploring how all families are special and that love is at the centre of family. The children will also explore the quote "watch over one another in love."

Year 3 - Exploring equal rights for all and celebrating who we are. The class will also explore how Pride is celebrated around the world.

Year 4 - Learning on the idea of the same but different. This will be related to self and our own lives.

Year 5 - Investigate what Pride Month is and it's history.

Year 6 - Explore the meaning of LGBTQ+. Learn about the work of Anne Lister and her role in breaking down gender stereotypes.

Year 5 have been looking at salaries for jobs they would like to do when they are older. From this they worked out their monthly wage, after deducting tax, national insurance, and pension. Then they found out the average costs of mortgages, house bills and other things they might pay monthly to see how much money they would have left for the month.

Money week work from Year 3. They have been investigating jobs and salaries and learning how to work within a budget by designing and costing fruit salads. Today they will make their fruit salads.
Great work everyone.
