Would you like a career in Rail Maintenance?
Lancashire Adult Learning run a Level 2 Rail Maintenance Training programme to support students to be 'track ready' once they have completed the necessary training.
The training is delivered in Brierfield/Accrington in a partnership between Lancashire Adult Learning and Rail Futures. The programme has been running regularly for the past 2 years and has been successful in enabling students to progress to a career in the rail engineering sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity linked to ongoing vacancies and is funded for 19+ learners who are unemployed and claiming benefits such as Universal Credit or on a low-income of less than ยฃ20,319 per year.
The next round of training will start in April 2024 with an initial six-week full time programme.
The recruitment process starts with an Information, Advice and Guidance session which will be at the Waterside Centre, St James Court West, Accrington, BB5 1NA on Friday 22nd March at 9:30am.
This session will provide applicants with more information about the requirements of the training and the opportunities linked to it to work in the rail maintenance sector. This session will help applicants to make an informed decision about progression to the full training.

Would you like a career in working with Children and Young People but don't know where to start with getting the right qualifications?
Lancashire Adult Learning are running a short session for people to find out more about the training and opportunities available in this sector.
This is a new opportunity to do the training in Accrington at The Waterside Centre.
Following the session students will have the opportunity to progress to a Get into Working in Schools and Colleges course start after half term at Waterside. That course will develop learnerโs knowledge and skills required to work with children, by exploring pathways and identifying further educational opportunities for either working in schools or colleges.
Level 1 and Level 2 course progression opportunities will be available.
The introductory session will be on Tuesday 6th February from 1pm to 3:30pm at The Waterside Centre, St James Court West, Accrington, BB5 1NA.
