💚 Moments of Pride 💚
Our Year 6 children welcomed their parents and carers today to showcase their cross-curricular learning around our thematic question: What was life like as a coal miner in Lancashire?
The week long learning project saw children delve into drama in order to write with perspective, conduct historical research and work collaboratively on DT creations.
Our children spoke with confidence, knowledge and pride about everything they have learned.
It was absolutely heartwarming to see them sharing their work, explaining their thinking and bringing Lancashire’s coal mining history to life.
Well done Year 6; we are so proud of you. Huge thanks to all those who were able to attend and support!
In Science this week, Class 5 have been learning about where our fruit and vegetables come from.
We explored a variety of fruits and vegetables and became food detectives, examining them carefully to see if we could identify whether they were a fruit or a vegetable based on the presence of seeds. The children were surprised to discover that some foods they thought were vegetables are actually fruits!
And of course, no fruit and vegetable investigation would be complete without a taste test! 😋 The children enjoyed trying different foods and sharing their opinions on their favourites.
This week, class 4 have been retelling the story Amy Wu and the Warm Welcome using Makaton signs. The children have loved bringing the story to life through actions and communication!
The children worked hard to learn and remember the signs and enjoyed using them as they retold key parts of the story. We are very proud of their enthusiasm and effort! 🌟
