🗓️ Applications are open now and must be submitted by 15 January 2027. If you have any questions or need support with your application, please speak to a member of staff.

It’s the first Friday of the month, which means we’re back in Accrington for our Family Hub Drop-In!

Our drop-ins are a friendly, informal space for parent carers of children and young people with SEND. Come along to:

Information on support for families of children with SEND 😊

💬 “We don’t always know where to turn when our child isn’t getting the support they need.”

What we’re hearing from parent carers…

Across our recent conversations with families, some common themes are emerging:

🧭 Navigating SEND – families unsure what support is available, who to contact or what to do next, particularly where English isn’t their first language.

🏫 Support in school – concerns about needs not being recognised, difficult transitions to secondary school and worries around EHCP reviews and exclusion.

💬 Feeling heard – parents feeling their concerns are sometimes overlooked or dismissed, including when their child already has a diagnosis.

⏳ Accessing support – frustration around waiting times, communication and access to specialist services, including ADHD pathways and Speech and Language Therapy.

💚 Social care – families struggling to access additional support when they need it.

These conversations help us identify the wider themes we need to raise with the services responsible.

Information about Family Hub drop ins that some of our families might be interested in 🙂

💬 “A 1 hour 20 minute journey was suggested for my very young child, each way, with no alternative offered.”

What we’re hearing from parent carers this week…

At our latest Family Hub Drop-In, families talked to us about some of the challenges they’re facing trying to get the right support for their children.

🚌 School transport not being agreed in time, particularly post-16, last-minute cancellations and long journeys being proposed for young children.

💚 Social care and respite, with families telling us they can’t access suitable Short Breaks locally, or are travelling significant distances to access them, leaving little meaningful respite for parents.

🌙 Sleep support, and families feeling there is nowhere to turn next when initial strategies and sleep studies haven’t helped.

These conversations matter. They help us understand what families across Lancashire are experiencing and identify the themes we need to raise with the services responsible.

If you’re experiencing something similar, you are not alone and we want to hear from you.

At Fairfield we place a strong emphasis on our creative curriculum and providing children with opportunities to express themselves through art. At the end of last year, our Nursery children proudly showcased their creativity in a special art exhibition, featuring artwork they had created throughout the year. Inspired by artists such as Jackson Po***ck and Brianna McCarthy, the children explored a range of techniques, colours and styles to produce their own unique masterpieces. 🎨
