๐๐ธ ๐ป๐ฅAnother very busy week this week at little tinkers! From making obstacles courses outside using the planks and tyres, to the baby room having a nursery rhyme themed week around their set ups.
Pre school have continued with their life cycle topic of a caterpillar ๐ and ๐ธ frogs. Our tadpoles are getting very big and In the next few days we should have some froglets ๐ค
In the pre school room we have done a science experiment by making some grass caterpillars out of egg cartons, composs and grass seeds so we can watch how the grass grows over time with watering them and sunlight.
ZooLab also came to visit us this week. They brought rats ๐, snails ๐, frogs ๐ธ, snakes ๐, centipedes, tarantulas and stick insects. The children really enjoyed this experience.
Next week we have baby chicks coming to stay with us at nursery so in our pre school room we will be learning all about the life cycle of a chick ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
We will also be focusing on spring next week in all our rooms. Pre school and the caterpillar room will be growing their own sunflowers ๐ป and observing these over time on how they grow.

This week so far in the bumble bee room we have been learning all about the life cycle of a frog and a butterfly. At nursery we have some frog spawn and some caterpillars that we are going to be observing over the next few weeks to watch them change and grow into frogs and beautiful butterflies.
This morning during register we refreshed what we learnt yesterday on the frog life cycle and spoke about the butterfly life cycle using prompt cards. The children really are beginning to grasp the life cycle changes. I hope they have been telling you all about this at home.
Below are some set ups that the children have been participating in today, alongside some story books that we will be reading after lunch and after tea.
This topic will continue for the next few weeks as at the end of march we have baby chicks coming to nursery to stay with us for a few days ๐ฅ
Today the children have been painting pictures of frogs and caterpillars using the water colour paletteโs. They have been looking at the details in the frog and caterpillar photos and using this to paint their own frogs and caterpillars. We then encourage the children to write their name on their pictures using their name cards.
The children have worked so hard today and we have really enjoyed this topic so far. We have lots more planned these next coming weeks and we cannot wait to see our frogs, caterpillars and butterflies grow ๐ธ ๐ ๐ฆ

๐ One of our favourite times at nursery when itโs Christmas is sitting down together and having a christmas lunch with the children, followed by mince pies and cream for pudding ๐
I love seeing their little faces light up when they see our special table all set up for them ๐ฅฐ
Thank you to Janine (Neenie) for cooking our Christmas lunch today. It was delicious as always โบ๏ธ

I would like to thank all our bumble bee parents for trusting myself and the staff to take your children to the pantomime yesterday at King Georgeโs Hall. We had a lovely time, the children had an amazing experience. Our children behaved so well they were fantastic at sitting and watching the show. We had ice cream during the interval which the children loved. I was so proud of how well they all behaved to say they are only 3 & 4 years old.
I was so happy that all of our 21 pre school children made this event together as a group. It was heart whelming to see their little faces light up to the sparkling costumes, lights, sounds and fire effects it really was a lovely morning out of nursery ๐ฅฐ

We have had a busy few weeks at nursery. Here is a peek ๐ at what our little tinkers have been getting up to.
From PE to outdoor play, walks in our โbusโ (as the children call this) ๐คฃ pencil control, scissor control, reciting stories, using our imaginations to build for a purpose, numbers, shapes, textures, emotions, messy play, superheroโs, our topic โat the zooโ and our book of the month โweโre going on a bear huntโ - we do lots and lots at little tinkers linking this to our childrenโs individual development and interests ๐ค
We encourage our children to be independent, and school ready! Our children are happy and content. They come into nursery and always learn in a fun and interesting way using their characteristics of learning.
At meal times our children self serve their own food and sit at their tables being encouraged by the staff to use their table manners. They pour their own drinks and learn how to use a knife and fork appropriately by cutting up their own food.
