Matrix Arts Centre

A wonderful array of recent work from the students of Emma Hockley here at Matrix Arts Centre with termly themes ranging from World Art to The Human Form, and Still Life to The Future.

Looking at composition, colour, line, tone and many forms of mark-making, these 2D works show only a handful of the vast array of techniques on offer in the classes. The children explore their creativity and ideas using high quality materials in a studious but fun environment. Come and have a look at some of their work in the waiting area.

We had a lovely time at our Barn Dance on Saturday - the weather was perfect for the occasion and there were lots of chats, dances, and laughter! Many thanks to the Mad Hatters band and caller for helping to create such a happy atmosphere.

Celebrating 50 years of Yamaha Music Schools in the UK! Lindsay, Antonia, and Oliver recently joined YMS instructors and operators to mark this milestone. Matrix Arts Centre YMS has been part of the journey for 38 years! To celebrate, we’ll be sharing a series of commemorative videos created by Yamaha.

Dear students, teachers, trustees, neighbours and friends

Do join us at our annual Barn Dance this Saturday 4 July from 6pm.

No need to book - just come along with plenty of food and drink to share and a donation towards the cost of the band and caller.

We look forward to seeing you for an evening of music and dancing, celebrating the end of a successful year.

Wow - what great concerts we had on Sunday! A huge well done to all those involved, especially the children and teachers who have been working very hard over the last few weeks. Stay cool in this hot weather!

Our art students have been looking at vibrant colours, contrast, blending and generally having fun with pencil crayons.
