๐Ÿ The inaugural H Social OR cricket match brought back to Bigside for a day of (fierce!) sunshine, friendly competition and plenty of catching up โ€“ particularly with their former Tutor, George May.

For many, it was the first time they'd played on Bigside since leaving Radley, and for some, the very first time they had taken to the famous square. Despite the best efforts of the grounds staff, the weather has somewhat scorched the pitch, but this did not dampen the excitement.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making it such a memorable occasion, and here's hoping it's the first of many H Social OR fixtures.

The Old Radleian Sailing Association (ORSA) took to the water for this year's iconic Round the Island Race, joining more than 800 boats in the 50-mile challenge around the Isle of Wight. โ›ต๏ธโ˜€๏ธ

Crewed by Will Dewar (1994, E), Tom Holbrook (2006, D), Felix Reynish (2014, K), Ed Verdon (2017, E), Daniel (6.2, C) and skippered by Jules Facer (1982, C), the team raced aboard the Army Sailing Association's Grebe VIII.

After an early 6am departure from Gosport, the crew enjoyed near-perfect conditions, with sunshine throughout and steady 10 to 15-knot winds (rising to 20 knots around St Catherine's Point). A strong downwind start under spinnaker, slick manoeuvres at The Needles and another exhilarating spinnaker run back along the Solent made for a fantastic day's sailing.

ORSA finished 170th of 400 in Island Sailing Class Group 7 and 40th of 86 in Group 7A, completing the course in 10 hours, 56 minutes.

Congratulations to the crew, and here's to an even bigger ORSA presence next year, with hopes of entering two boats! ๐ŸŒŠ

Eight Radleians, including one current boy, were delighted to support the inaugural North Atlantic Salmon Fund (NASF UK) event on 17th June. The charity is supported by trustee Tom Silk (1981, F), and it was wonderful to see members of the Radley community backing this cause. To find out more, visit www.nasf.org.uk or follow them on Instagram.

A fantastic evening on the world-class lawns of Hurlingham Club for the annual Old Radleian croquet match.

A record 24 players took part this year, with Hurlingham securing their first victory despite a strong Radley side. Their team certainly brought some formidable talent, including a competitor from last year's World Championships in Florida.

Our thanks go to Hurlingham Club for their generous hospitality, to the Old Radleians who helped make the evening such a success, and to the Radleian Society for treating everyone to post-match burgers.

A wonderful evening of sport!

๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ‰ Entrepreneurial thinking took centre stage this week as the finalists in Radleyโ€™s inaugural Dragonsโ€™ Den competition pitched their ideas live to a panel of OR entrepreneurs.

After months of developing business plans and submitting video pitches, six teams made it to the final, presenting ideas spanning sustainability, education, practical design solutions and charitable initiatives. Standing on stage, defending their ideas under questioning and thinking on their feet was an achievement in itself, and every finalist deserves credit for the commitment and professionalism they showed.

Congratulations to Jamie (R, B) and Rupert (V, B), whose invention, Clampy (a clamp designed to keep push-button showers running), won the ยฃ1,000 prize.

A huge thank you to our Dragons, whose experience and encouragement made the competition so valuable for the boys:

๐ŸฒSam Merullo (1996, C), investor and entrepreneur
๐ŸฒFreddy Macnamara (2001, E), Founder of Cuvva
๐ŸฒRory Hanna (2010, H), Co-founder of PAWD Drinks
๐ŸฒSam Tucker (2014, K), Co-founder of Keith

Special thanks also to Sam and Freddy, who returned to College earlier this term to share their own entrepreneurial journeys with pupils.

Generations of Radley rowers returned to the Boathouse on Sunday for this year's Mariners' Challenge.

More than a hundred members of the rowing community gathered to watch the Mariners take on the 1st VIII, celebrate the naming of 15 boats after ORs who represented their countries at Junior World Championships, and unveil a memorial bench honouring Malcolm Mace's 38 years as Radley Boatman. What a wonderful afternoon of competition and nostalgia โ€“ thank you to everyone who joined us!
