Year 5 took a delicious “trip to France” in cookery class as they learnt to make classic crêpes - choosing their own fillings and tasting every creation.

Alongside familiar favourites, they were brave enough to try new flavours too, including Brie and sun‑dried tomatoes.

It was a wonderful blend of learning, confidence and culinary adventure!

Our Year 5 and 6 School Council came together for the first time to share their ideas and discuss ways they could help make school life even better for everyone!

There were some fantastic suggestions, including a school community book swap, end-of-term socials and a wider variety of House competitions.

It was wonderful to see our pupils sharing their ideas, listening to one another and thinking about how they can make a positive difference to our school community.

Being part of the School Council gives pupils a valuable opportunity to develop their confidence, communication and teamwork skills, while learning how to represent the views of others and take responsibility for making positive changes.

For our school, it provides an important pupil voice, helping us understand what matters to our children and creating a stronger sense of belonging and community.

We’re looking forward to seeing these ideas develop and to all the positive changes our School Council will help bring about this year!

Year 2 enjoyed a brilliant day at Earth Trust, deepening and consolidating everything they’ve been learning in class about our natural world.

They explored the impact of waste, water usage, food miles and seasonality, seeing these ideas come to life beyond the classroom.

They particularly enjoyed time spent frolicking around beautiful Wittenham Clumps before transforming into red kites and soaring down the hillside!

Year 6 stepped into the world of circulation during their science lesson, discovering how oxygen travels through the body and keeps us going.

They built jar hearts to see how blood is pumped, and became oxygenated and deoxygenated blood cells inside a large heart model, acting out the journey for themselves!
