Happy Chinese New Year of the Tiger 🐯!! We had a fantastic time celebrating with lots of play set up's though the day and a homemade Chinese feast for tea 🥳

We had lot of fun and learning opportunities reading The Gingerbread Man and doing lots of related activities including the children making these stick puppets to act out the story.

The children absolutely loved this little loose parts set up. It quickly progressed to playing hide and seek with the glass beads and then some junk modelling. The children then added the loose parts to their favourite toys and resources to enhance their learning.

All the children created handprint poppy pictures today. As we talked about the meaning behind them.

Help!! We are stuck! The older children really enjoyed using their fine and gross motor skills to free the dinosaurs today.

Investigating Autumn and trains out in the sumshine today. The children liked using the magnified glasses to notice detailed features of their environment.

Introduction Autumn into the setting today with this little set up. Already we have had coversations about the names of the objects and their colours/textures. The children added more onjects as play progressed. This is a very exciting time of year offering so many learning opportunities.

Pancake day fun!! Only remembered to take a photo once the children had played with it! They had great time cutting out the playdough pancakes into circles. We spoke about what we liked on them and did lots of counting. We also did some very impressive pancake tossing. The house was full of learning and laughter even a nearly one year old copied the older children and join in with the pancake tossing. We will make real ones later.
