What a lovely 😍afternoon we had today. The children loved it. A lot of conversation and giggles.
Role play in a vital part of learning, and promotes:
●Social and Emotional Development:
learn to understand different perspectives, fostering empathy and compassion. It helps them navigate social situations, learn to share, cooperate, and manage their emotions.
●Cognitive and Intellectual Growth: Role play encourages critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving as children navigate scenarios. It promotes cognitive flexibility and creativity.
●Language and Communication Skills: Children expand their vocabulary and improve communication skills by using language in context and interacting with peers.
●Physical Development: It helps refine both fine and gross motor skills, such as using small props or acting out energetic roles.
●Understanding the World: It allows children to safely explore, process, and make sense of real-world scenarios, such as visiting a doctor or playing "house".
●Confidence & Self-Regulation: Engaging in imaginative play helps children build self-confidence and develop coping strategies for different situations.

Today we made a kindness tuff tray activity with smiley faces 😀, hearts 💕 friendship links, flowers and colourful red rice.
This supports:
🖐️ Fine motor control and pincer grasp (with scooping, grabbing and pinching)
🧠 Focus, coordination and sensory processing
💬 Emotional literacy and conversation skills (talking about kindness, feelings and friendship)
🧪 Imagination and storytelling (making magical mixtures)
💖 Self-confidence through giving and expressing emotions

*Hand-Eye Coordination: Improves the ability to visually track and accurately pick up and place small objects.
*Pre-Writing Skills: Strengthens muscles required to hold a pencil for extended periods.
*Cognitive Skills: Encourages focus, concentration, sorting, and pattern recognition.
*Independence: Fosters self-reliance in practical life tasks.
