MUSIC GROUP STARTING UP AGAIN!! — At The Cambria, Tuesday evenings, 7:30-9pm, starting on Dec 14th!
Considering it will most likely be next uni year when the university finishes renovating The Old College (and the music center is open again), and I've been having a lot of inquiries about whether the group (which I was running for them) is running, I've decided to start running the music group myself (independent of the university).
The group will be aimed at providing a space for singers and most acoustic instrument (not just guitar) players—with the possible exception of very loud instruments (check you're unsure)—to come learn songs, and improvise, and socialize with each other in an informal environment. Beginners and experts are welcome alike, as the songs generally have easy and hard parts which can be played.
Last year the group covered a wide range of genres (with an emphasis on songs that are good for improvisation) including, Jazz standards, Gypsy Jazz, Classical, Blues, Traditional, and Musicals, and will expand into many more as the group goes on.
If you need TAB/Notation for a specific instrument contact me (Sam Holman 07875 328542) to say you intend to come, so I have time to create any necessary material.
Instead of joining with a university music card there'll be a £5 suggested donation each week.
