Abergavenny Vegan Fair will be taking for the first time in the famous Market Hall in May 2019.

to our first Abergavenny Vegan Fair - Ffair Fegan y Fenni which took place in May last year. It was one of our highlights of 2019 and one of our most popular events to date.

The event took place in the beautiful indoor Abergavenny Market, showcased over 50 independent businesses and had a full talks and demo programme with speakers including Fiona Oakes, Richard Buckley from Acorn Restaurant Bath and Mary Frankland from Dean Farm Trust.

We were meant to hold the second event back in May but in April took the decision to postpone to later this month due to the coronavirus pandemic. Last week we had to make the difficult decision with the venue to cancel the event altogether as we still don't feel like we can put the event on safely.

We hope to have a date in the diary for the next event in the coming weeks and look forward to returning to Abergavenny soon!

We'll see you all next year folks ๐Ÿ’š

As it stands there are no plans to postpone our event on Sun 24th May but we are continuing to monitor develops and government advise.

The safety and well-being of our audiences, traders and staff is our priority ๐Ÿ’š

Below are a few words from our organisers...

IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE.

In response to the new government advice for the public to โ€œavoidโ€ all social gatherings we have taken the difficult decision to postpone all our events till the end of April.

Events effected currently are Chippenham Vegan Chocolate Festival, Chippenham Eco Art/Craft Fair and Witney Vegan Fair 2020 (we are currently waiting on confirmation from the venue on Frome Vegan Market).

We will continue to monitor the developments on an ongoing basis and weโ€™re currently working with venues and traders to reschedule events. We will confirm new dates where possible.

Over the last week we have been carefully considering our response to the situation around the COVID-19 outbreak. While we must do all we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our audiences, traders and staff this will have a massive economic hit, not only for us, but the hundreds of independent businesses we work with.

We know the next few months are going to be extremely difficult for everyone, but we do ask that wherever possible, please support independent businesses during this period.

Even though 15% of the UK workforce are self-employed, the majority aren't entitled to any sick pay. We know this will hugely affect our traders, as well as The Vegan Fairs team. So we'd encourage everyone to be supportive of each other at this uncertain time.

Over the next few months we are going to be using our platform to highlight some fantastic independent vegan businesses that you can still support over the next few months. Weโ€™ll also be generating some new useful and engaging content for you all to enjoy!

Take care and stay safe ๐Ÿ’š
