Our pupils had a brilliant day at the 'Be A Farmer' event in Dundee this week, exploring the wide range of careers available within agriculture, food production and animal science.
From flying drones and trying out tractor driving simulators to learning about butchery, potato growing, strawberries, goats and veterinary science, there was something to interest everyone. Pupils also discovered how technology is shaping modern farming and gained an insight into the many different pathways into the industry.
We were especially proud when our group was praised for being the best so far at navigating the drones!
A huge thank you to Lantra Scotland, Lantra, Dundee and Angus College RHET Perth & Kinross CI and all the organisations involved for delivering such an engaging and inspiring event.

On their final day the students visited the Galicia Jewish Museum to learn about the Galician Jewish community and how the holocaust impacted this area.
Following on from this they met with Holocaust survivor Monika Goldwasser and listened to her story from her parents brave sacrifice to rediscovering her Jewish roots. This was an amazing and insightful experience for our students.
