🎓 Applying to study medicine? Your university choices should be strategic.

Did you know that every UK medical school assesses applications slightly differently? Understanding how each university uses your UCAT score, academic grades and interview performance can help you make smarter application choices and maximise your chances of receiving an offer.

📅 Don’t forget: UCAT booking closes on 16th September.

For example:
✅ University of Aberdeen weights applications as 20% UCAT, 30% academic grades and 50% interview performance.
✅ University of Glasgow and University of St Andrews use the UCAT heavily when deciding who to invite for interview provided other entry requirements are met.

Your UCAT result, together with the rest of your application, should help guide which medical schools you apply to. A well-planned application strategy can make a real difference.

Medicine is incredibly competitive, so while it’s important to think about how to stand out in your application, meeting those grade requirements comes first. Study smart: take regular breaks, keep your mind fresh, eat well, and make time for fresh air and exercise.

The countdown is on - our June course is now less than 10 weeks away! We can’t wait to meet our future medics and deliver an action-packed weekend designed to give you the perfect introduction to the world of medicine.

This is your chance to discover what a career in medicine really involves and gain the hands-on experience many aspiring medics miss out on.

To make sure every participant gets the most from the course, we keep groups small and run sessions in real GP consulting rooms, led by a variety of doctors with opportunities for real patient exposure. Because we use clinical rooms, places are naturally limited - so don’t miss out!
