Scamps Out of School Clubs Ltd Aberdeen Professional Childcare, Holiday club care, Pick up/drop off @ Mile End Primary School, Befo

Scamps Out of School Club was first established in 1988 in the Kings Gate area of Aberdeen in the Beechgrove Scout Hut to offer working parents affordable yet professional child care. We provide a warm, friendly environment with fully PVG checked, trained & qualified staff. We provide a safe, secure and comfortable home-from-home environment where children are able to relax before and after a day at school, do their homework, play with friends or let off steam. With open spaces for an active range of activities to play outside and several different play areas indoors we are able to cater for different ages and stages seamlessly. Scamps is a privately owned child care service which is regulated by the Care Inspectorate Scotland (CS2013315234) and our staff are all registered members of Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Scamps went through a change of ownership in 2012 due to retirement and is now under new management. Since then it has grown and thrived now offering up to 40 places per day for children at Mile End Primary School for Before School Club and After School Club. We offer a drop off and pick up service to Mile End Primary only as we es**rt children on foot to and from the Scout Hut. During holidays and In-Service Days we are open to primary school children (registered members only) from all over the city and throughout the shire. We run a wide selection of fun, educational trips in & around Aberdeen plus many other activities throughout the holidays to keep children engaged and happy.

There’s been an increase in reports of measles cases across the UK. It’s important to be aware of signs and symptoms:
- cold-like symptoms
- sore, red eyes that may be sensitive to light
- a high temperature
- a rash on the skin that usually first appears on the head/neck and then spreads to the rest of the body

Dress your child to suit the season

We share this every year. There is a child in both photos in the same position with a different colour coat on. Really important when choosing winter clothes.

Our Beautiful Boys - This post is in response to the system as it is failing boys more than than it fails girls. Of course girls learn by doing-hands-on too, and this quote is looking at why the boys are failing.
We know that people learn stuff by DOING stuff. For young children (boys AND girls), sitting still and playing with ideas in their heads - (and this is the important bit) while not being about to action them - is short circuiting the learning process. Due to developmental differences between boys and girls, it is the boys who fare less well if there isn't an adequate component of 'physical playing it out'. Three cheers to the teachers and schools who set their environments and programmes to take into account that children learn stuff by DOING stuff, in three dimensions, in the three dimensional world.
