Good afternoon,

I am sharing this to highlight and share some news on the progression of our Schoo Aged ChildCare sector challenges and proposals for moving forward.

Please find link below to the recently published Review of Regulation – Feasibility Study – Final Options Appraisal. This options appraisal summarises findings from a joint Scottish Government and Care Inspectorate feasibility study to consider the future regulation of school age childcare services, aiming to better understand the challenges and whether regulatory change could support sustainability.

This is a great way to support children's understanding - we watch the video at club and the song is quite catchy 😁

Dear Parents and Carers,

Aberdeen City Council – School Age Childcare Parent and Carer Consultation 2025

Part 8 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 requires Local Authorities to consult regularly with parents about the provision of day care. Following our recent Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Parent and Carer

Consultation 2025, Aberdeen City Council is now carrying out an online consultation with parents and carers on School Age Childcare provision in the city.

We would be very grateful if parents and carers could complete the consultation, which should take no longer than 5-10 minutes. It can be completed online using the link below:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScjJLz71cSmWtEIkHmJdStNFSdHpzk7SFLDQd_ssMslsdtSBQ/viewform

All answers are confidential and anonymous. The information gathered will be used by Aberdeen City Council to inform our ongoing support, development and delivery of School Age Childcare locally.

The closing date for completing the survey is Wednesday 17th December 2025.

Please note, this communication will be sent via Schools, Parent Councils and School Age Childcare providers for circulation to parents and carers. Apologies if you receive this more than once. We are trying to ensure it gets circulated widely but you need only complete the survey once.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or queries.

Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards,
Mark and Louise

Julia's memorial "forget me not corner garden" is producing some lovely veg/fruit we hope to have for snack.
We have already had the strawberries ( a lot more plants needed next year), 3 new raspberry bushes bought and planted, blueberry bushes that did not yield fruit this year, but am assured to leave them to see what next year brings, We have had a cracking crop of peas in pods which the children had for snack.
We have cucumbers, 2 varieties of tomatoes and sweet peppers growing in the small greenhouse and of course, the beautiful flowers too.
And the proverbial cherry on top, Julia's forget me not seeds have started to flower 💙🩷
