The parents and carers of children in Aberdeen can apply for Primary One (P1) enrolment from Monday 5 January 2026.

All children who will reach the age of five on or before the start of the new academic year on 17 August 2026 should start primary school in August 2026. Children who reach the age of five after August 2026, but before the last day of February 2027, may also be enrolled for primary school in August 2026.

Parents and carers are being encouraged to apply for P1 from the start of the new school term today through to Wednesday 21 January 2026.

⚓ Getting into the Tall Ship spirit! ⚓

Mrs Fyfe might not have stepped aboard the ship but that didn’t stop her from joining in with the Tall Ships fun. Here she is proudly taking part (aka gate crashing 🫣)in the OP Stok 3 crew parade! Pretty sure that makes her honorary crew now. 💙

Meanwhile, Miss Reid found herself face to face with none other than Captain Jack Sparrow. 🏴‍☠️

What a fabulous experience and the top tip is to go to the berthing gate for class C/D ships and ask a member of a ship’s crew if there is anyone around from OP Stok 3 and say you are from Skene Square! Good luck and remember to share some pics 😊
