✨ A little glimpse into our week at nursery! ✨
We’ve been busy learning, exploring and having lots of fun through hands-on experiences! 💛

☁️ Fluffy Clouds
Our children enjoyed a walk to Aldi to choose fruit and vegetables for a yummy fruit-tasting experience 🍎🍓🥕. Along the way, we spotted lots of little bugs and took the opportunity to stop, look closely and investigate! 🐞🔍

👩‍🍳 We’ve also been baking with Leah, making a delicious school sponge 🎂, while all our rooms got involved in creating cinnamon and apple pastries 🍎🥐. We explored ingredients, textures, smells and tastes while developing our confidence, independence and teamwork.

💧🐛 We’ve been investigating bugs in coloured water, encouraging curiosity, observation and lots of “I wonder…” moments!

☀️ Sunbeams
Sunbeams enjoyed a mind-mapping session with Laura, sharing their ideas about what they would like to explore during Doddle Bug this term 💭🐛. We love giving our children a voice in their learning!

📚 Community Adventures
Both classrooms have also enjoyed visits to Kincorth Library, developing a love of books and stories while enjoying time within our local community. ❤️📖

🌈✨ What a wonderful week of learning and discovery! ✨🌈
We’ve had a busy and exciting week across our Fluffy Clouds and Sunbeams rooms, with lots of opportunities for our children aged 0–5 years to explore, create, develop new skills and build confidence. 💕🧸

🐞 Fluffy Clouds 🕷️

Our little explorers have been learning all about mini-beasts! 🐛🐝 The children used tweezers to rescue bugs from a spider’s web, developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration and control.

We’ve also been getting creative with brown playdough, making our very own bug prints. This encouraged sensory exploration, creativity and imaginative play while helping to strengthen little hands and fingers. 🎨

🦔 Another favourite activity was making playdough hedgehogs by pushing spaghetti through the holes in a colander. This fantastic activity supported fine motor development, coordination, problem-solving and perseverance — as well as creating some very cute hedgehogs! 🦔💕

🌞 Sunbeams 🌞

Our Sunbeams children have been busy settling into their new classrooms and learning their new routines. This has been a lovely opportunity to develop independence, confidence, communication and a sense of belonging within their new environment. 💛

The children have also enjoyed taking part in an outdoor talent show on our stage! 🎤⭐ This encouraged the children to express themselves, develop confidence and self-esteem, practise communication skills and celebrate each other’s talents.

💖 We’ve also been thinking about kindness and created a wonderful kindness poster, sharing ideas about ways we can be kind and caring towards our friends. This supported children’s understanding of positive relationships, empathy, respect and emotional development.

🎨 To finish the week, the children have been exploring playdough using a range of cutters and rollers, strengthening their hands and fingers while developing creativity, imagination and fine motor control.

🌟 Learning through play is at the heart of everything we do, and it has been wonderful to see the children learning, growing, becoming more independent and, most importantly, having fun along the way! 💕🌈

🌟 A week full of exploring, discovering and learning! 🌟

Our little learners have been enjoying a wonderful variety of hands-on experiences this week, with lots of opportunities to develop new skills through play and exploration! 🐛🐦🌈🌳

☁️ Fluffy Clouds have been busy going on exciting bug hunts through sensory trays filled with spaghetti, leaves, cereal and rice. 🐞🔍
Learning opportunities: Developing sensory awareness, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination while exploring different textures. The children also practised their communication skills and learned about mini-beasts through songs, props and discussion. 🎶

🌙 Moonbeams enjoyed an animal matching game and got creative making birds using paper plates and a variety of materials. 🐦🎨
Learning opportunities: Developing memory, concentration and early problem-solving skills through matching, while exploring creativity, colour and different materials. The children also strengthened their fine motor skills through cutting, sticking and creating. ✂️

☀️ Sunrays & Shooting Stars have been discussing feelings and emotions using The Colour Monster. 🌈
Learning opportunities: Building emotional literacy by recognising, naming and talking about different feelings, while developing empathy and confidence in expressing emotions.

📚 The children also enjoyed a walk to Kincorth Library, providing opportunities to develop an interest in books, stories and their wider community. They explored the outdoors during a scavenger hunt and tree climbing at the Gramps, developing physical skills, confidence, observation and an appreciation of nature. 🌳🍂

🧲 Back at nursery, magnetic block building encouraged creativity, problem-solving and early mathematical thinking as the children explored shapes, balance, construction and cause and effect.

We love supporting our children to learn through play, follow their interests and develop confidence, curiosity and independence every day! 💛✨

🌟✨ What a Wonderful Week in Nursery! ✨🌟
We’ve had a fantastic week across all our rooms, with lots of exciting opportunities for exploring, creating, experimenting and learning through play! 🌈🧸💕

☁️🐞 Fluffy Clouds have been busy exploring their bug theme! They’ve been painting bugs 🎨🐛, building with blocks 🧱, drawing bugs ✏️🐞, printing bugs 🖨️🦋 and getting creative with bugs in playdough! 🌈🐝

🌙❄️ Moonbeams have been exploring animals frozen in ice! 🐧🐻‍❄️ They experimented with different colours to see through the ice 🎨👀 and used a variety of tools to break the ice and rescue the animals! 🛠️🧊🐾

☀️🌍 Sunrays have been discovering the world around us! They’ve been making flags from different countries 🏳️🌎, exploring the globe 🌍🔍 and investigating distance, volume and speed using water 💦🍃. They also had lots of fun making garden soup using natural resources! 🥣🌿🥕✨

⭐🚀 Shooting Stars have been getting creative and curious too! They explored a water and oil experiment 🧪💧, enjoyed their Giraffes Can’t Dance theme 🦒🎶, took part in a fun numeracy game 🔢🎲 and made delicious orange juice! 🍊🥤😋

🌈✨ What have our little ones been up to this week? ✨🌈

It’s been another busy and exciting week at nursery, with lots of opportunities for our children to explore, create, learn and have fun together! 💕

☁️ Fluffy Clouds have been exploring the sand pit, enjoying water play and getting creative by drawing their very own insects. 🐞🦋

🌙 Moonbeams have been working together as a team to create their own obstacle course using loose parts, sharing ideas, solving problems and encouraging their friends along the way. 🤸‍♀️

☀️ Sunrays have been enjoying yoga, exploring a real guitar and making up their own songs. 🎸🎶 They’ve also been developing their gross motor skills by jumping from the large cable reel, as well
as enjoying lots of lovely cuddles with our staff. 🥰

⭐ Shooting Stars have been busy making sand pies, drawing alongside their friends and being fantastic snack helpers, developing their independence and confidence. 🎨🍎

🌟 What a week we've had at nursery! 🌟
Our children have been busy learning, exploring and making lots of happy memories together! 💛
☁️ Fluffy Clouds have been little explorers, searching for bugs, getting creative with junk modelling, and developing their gross motor skills through hopscotch.
🌙 Moonbeams had so much fun celebrating Crazy Hair Day, creating their own colourful crazy hair pictures! They've also been learning important social skills while enjoying ball games with their friends, practising sharing, taking turns and teamwork.
☀️ Sunrays have loved our face painting party and have been continuing their Travel and Journeys theme by using their imaginations to create and play their own games.
⭐ Shooting Stars have enjoyed finding snails in the garden, joining in with circle games and making the most of playing and laughing together with their friends.
As we count down to our school leavers' final days with us, we've been making every moment special with a 🍕 pizza party, 🎉 games day and 👗 dress-up day. Tomorrow we're looking forward to finishing the week with a splash-tastic 💦 water fight and a cosy 💤 pyjama afternoon!
We've loved seeing so many smiles, friendships grow and confidence shine this week. 💙✨

What a fantastic last week of learning and fun at nursery! 🌿🐌📚✨

Our **Fluffy Clouds** have been busy exploring the wonderful world of mini-beasts. They created their own snail shells before pretending to be snails by crawling and slithering around the room. The children also became mini-beast rescuers, carefully using their fine motor skills to peel tape away and set the tiny creatures free. These activities supported imaginative play, strengthened hand muscles, and developed coordination and problem-solving skills.

Our **Moonbeams** enjoyed exploring sensory bags filled with mini-beasts, encouraging curiosity, communication, and sensory development. They also investigated magnetic letters and recognised the letters in their own names, helping to build early literacy skills and letter recognition.

The **Sunrays** headed outdoors for an exciting number and shape hunt, developing their mathematical understanding through play. After discovering a feather in the garden, they used the iPad to research which bird it may have come from, encouraging curiosity, technology skills, and an understanding of the natural world.

Our talented **Shooting Stars** wowed their friends with a fantastic talent show! From singing songs and telling jokes to performing a puppet show, the children built confidence, communication skills, creativity, and celebrated each other's unique talents.

As part of our Story of the Month, *Monkey Puzzle* 📖🐵, the children listened carefully to the story before sequencing the pictures, developing their comprehension, memory, and understanding of story structure.

To finish the week, everyone had lots of fun taking part in parachute games in the garden. These activities encouraged teamwork, turn-taking, listening skills, and gross motor development, while creating lots of smiles and laughter!

We are so proud of all the wonderful learning, curiosity, and confidence our children have shown this week. Well done, everyone! 💚🌈

🌟 A Wonderful Week at Nursery! 🌟
It's been another fantastic week across all of our nursery rooms, with the children enjoying a wide range of exciting activities, developing new skills, and making lots of wonderful memories together. 💛
☁️ Fluffy Clouds have been exploring the great outdoors, showing a keen interest in bugs and mini beasts during their visits to the allotment. They were delighted to discover snails and enjoyed picking and tasting delicious strawberries. Back at nursery, the children developed their fine motor skills through puzzles and threading activities. 🐞🐌🍓🧩
🌙 Moonbeams have been busy baking, completing animal puzzles, and exploring a variety of messy play experiences to strengthen their fine motor skills and encourage creativity. They also enjoyed a trip to Aldi, where they helped with the shopping and learned about everyday life in the community. 🧁🛒🎨
☀️ Sunrays embraced outdoor learning with a nature walk, creating their own drawings inspired by their surroundings. They also designed and tested their own paper aeroplanes, exploring early mathematical concepts by measuring and comparing how far they could fly. ✈️🎨🌳
⭐ Shooting Stars have had lots of fun playing Snakes and Ladders, developing their counting, turn-taking, and number recognition skills. They also enjoyed making their own colourful bracelets, building fine motor skills while expressing their creativity. 🎲📿

🌟 Another fun-filled week of learning and adventure across our nursery! 🌟

Our youngest children have been busy developing their early maths and problem-solving skills by matching different shaped bees to the correct shaped flowers. 🐝🌸 They also explored the fascinating world of minibeasts by drawing their favourite insects and enjoying imaginative play with our insect role play toys, encouraging creativity, language and fine motor development.

Our next room enjoyed a lovely walk to the park, where they practised turn-taking and built their confidence on the swings, slide and spinning cup. 🌳🛝 Back at nursery, they explored a sensory pathway, walking through different textures including shaving foam, sand and water, supporting their sensory development and curiosity. They also created colourful masterpieces using puffy paint, experimenting with both paintbrushes and their hands to develop their creativity and fine motor skills. 🎨✨

Our preschool children became little chefs alongside our cook, Leah! 👩‍🍳 They carefully chopped ingredients to make delicious mango chutney, mint dip and naan bread, learning valuable life skills, practising safe food preparation and exploring new tastes and smells.

Our oldest children enjoyed an exciting visit to Kincorth Library, encouraging a love of books and the local community. 📚 They also showed fantastic teamwork while helping to wash the chairs, taking pride in caring for their environment. To finish off their day, they had lots of fun playing with their siblings on the outdoor soft play equipment, building friendships, confidence and social skills. 💙

Every day is full of opportunities to learn through play, explore new experiences and create wonderful memories together. We can’t wait to see what next week brings! 🌈✨
