Kelsey’s Journey: A Career Dedicated to Care 🏥

Before becoming a Training Officer, Kelsey dedicated her teenage years and early twenties to studying and practising as a midwife, a journey that profoundly shaped both her career and the person she is today.

Her midwifery training took her across the north of Scotland, where she had the privilege of learning from an extraordinary group of mentors. These experiences, along with the families she supported along the way, left a lasting impact on her and her practice.

Kelsey worked as a midwife for three years, gaining invaluable clinical experience and sharing some of the most significant moments in people’s lives. While she deeply valued her time in clinical practice, she discovered that her greatest passion lay in education. Supporting others to develop confidence, skills, and compassion within their own roles was something she had always aspired to do.

This realisation led her to transition into training, where she found the perfect opportunity to combine her love of midwifery with her enthusiasm for teaching. Her clinical background continues to influence the way she designs and delivers training, ensuring that every course is grounded in real world experience and practical understanding.

Kelsey's midwifery journey, and the lifelong friendships formed along the way, will always hold a special place in her heart. She remains deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such meaningful moments in the lives of so many families.

GSR Training was proud to see our Managing Director, Christina Sutherland, attend Northfield Academy's Celebration of

Success ceremony at the King’s Church.
As a former Northfield Academy pupil herself, having attended the school between 1998 and 2002, it was a particularly special evening for Christina as she returned to celebrate the achievements of current students.

Christina was delighted to sponsor both the Business Education Awards and the Leadership Award, recognising young people who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, ambition, and potential.

Reflecting on the event, Christina spoke of how inspiring it was to see so many talented young people being recognised for their hard work and achievements. Supporting education and helping to develop future talent remains a key priority for GSR Training.

Congratulations to all award winners and those recognised throughout the evening. We look forward to continuing our support of Northfield Academy and celebrating the success of its students for many years to come.
