🌟 TAKING A BREAK 🌟

After 4 amazing years of tutoring, I have decided to take a break to focus on my career. From tutoring around my small village, to creating Smart Minds and having students all over Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, I have loved every moment of it.

I can’t thank all of my students and their families enough for keeping me busy and to all who has recommended me over the years.

I am proud of every single student (and I still want to hear from you on results day!😉)

As you all know, I am off on my holidays tomorrow and will return Sunday 23rd February ✈️ My messages are ALWAYS open and I will welcome any questions/ completed work during this time. The time difference may mean I don’t get back to you as quickly as normal, but I will reply as soon as I can.

I’m not sure what ‘Teachers in January’ would look like… 😴

We’ve been a bit silent on here but we are busier than ever and getting our students through their prelims (or they are getting us through prelim season 🤦🏽‍♀️).

Well done to all students who have completed/are completing their prelims at the moment. Your hard work will pay off 👏🏽🌟

How does SMT benefit your child? 🤔💭

1) We spend time getting to know the most effective ways in which each individual learns. This means that we can adapt and customise our lessons to suit each students ability. Every lesson is different ‼️

2) Previous experience has demonstrated that pupils achieving lower target grades or prelim results have proceeded to achieve an average of 2 grades above in their final exam 📈

3) We at SMT build strong relationships with our students, resulting in students feeling confident enough to ask specific and effective questions 💭

4) Learning doesn’t need to be boring! We try to make lessons as enjoyable as we can to increase pupil engagement 😃

5) One of the most crucial aspects of our 1-1 sessions… confidence boosting 🤩 Lack of confidence is at an all time high due to missing education as a result of Covid. We are here to reassure, praise, and answer any questions from pupils or guardians 👏🏽

6) What are the best ways to revise? This is a question we are asked (mostly by parents) on a weekly basis… there is no specific revision method that proves most effective. We are here to monitor and advise which method of revision will be most effective for each individual.

7) Short 45 minutes to 1 hour sessions are crucial in ensuring continuous engagement. Independent revision can be highly effective although too much time spent revising can get “boring”! 🫠
