Yesterday marked the end of Tay's four-week Career Ready internship with TechFest 🎉

Over the past month, Tay has built confidence and developed a wide range of skills, from engaging with the public through outreach activities to helping generate creative ideas for our 24 Days of STEM Advent Calendar.

Here's what Tay had to say about their time at TechFest 👇

While enjoying the start of the summer holidays, we're still celebrating a fantastic final few weeks of term delivering the in-school heats of our new Wind Energy Challenge in collaboration with GB Energy, ETZ Ltd, Robert Gordon University and DYW North East.

The challenge sees new S4 pupils from schools across Aberdeen work in teams to design a sustainable wind farm capable of powering a typical Aberdeenshire village.

Along the way, they've calculated energy demand, selected suitable turbines, debated the benefits and challenges of onshore and offshore developments, and carefully balanced environmental, engineering and community considerations.

The standard has been incredible. It's been fantastic to see so many young people tackling real-world engineering challenges with creativity, teamwork and impressive problem-solving skills.

Congratulations to all of the teams who took part, and especially to those who have secured a place in the Grand Final this September! 👏
