We are located in the North East of Scotland in a city called Aberdeen, often referred to as the β€˜oil capital of Europe’. Founded in 1867 as an all-girls school, Albyn School has spent the last 150 years evolving to become one of Scotland’s leading independent educational establishments. Located in the reputable west end of Aberdeen, our buildings are a beautiful blend of traditional 19th century

Did you know we have a Rock Climbing Club?

Swapping the climbing wall for the real thing, our climbers recently tested their skills on Aberdeen's cliffs, tackling real rock climbs, abseiling, and even an introduction to trad climbing by learning how to place climbing protection.

Our climbers showed brilliant problem-solving, resilience, teamwork and communication. Well done team!

If you've spent any time around the school over the past seven years, chances are you've come across Callum.

Whether he was on the sports field, behind a camera capturing school events, conducting the orchestra, performing on stage, playing the drums with the Covers Band or Jazz Ensemble, supporting productions backstage, or encouraging younger pupils as a Wellbeing Ambassador, Callum became a familiar face across every corner of school life.

As he gets ready to begin his next adventure at university, we caught up with him to look back on the experiences, opportunities and memories that have shaped his journey at Albyn.

We know... it's only been a few weeks... but we're already missing our S6s! 😒

So we took a little trip down memory lane with some favourite moments from their Leavers' Assembly and family celebration at the end of term πŸ’š

Check back tomorrow as we catch up with one of our Class of 2026 before he heads off on his next adventure.

What a day our Primary 3s had at Westerton Farm 🌾🚜

As part of their 'What's on the Menu?' topic, they discovered how colourful vegetables are grown, met lots of friendly farm animals, picked fresh lavender, peas and carrots, and even spotted baby pumpkins growing in the fields!

It was a fantastic hands-on way to learn about where our food comes from and celebrate the amazing local produce we have here in Scotland!

We're incredibly proud of our S2 and S3 pupils who took part in the Royal Society of Biology Competition recently. We celebrated an excellent set of Commended and Highly Commended awards, with 13 pupils achieving Gold, Silver or Bronze.

A special congratulations to our S3 girls Tahlil, Megan and Thaanya who all achieved Gold with an outstanding 95% score, placing them amongst the very top performers from more than 42,000 entrantsπŸ₯‡

What a fantastic achievement. Well done to everyone who took part!πŸ‘

Look who came back to see us 😊

Fresh from the BBC Apprentice boardroom, Roxanne Hamedi (class of 2010) was back where it all started, chatting with our S5 pupils as part of their β€˜Working Towards Your Future’ week (more on that coming tomorrow πŸ‘€).

She spoke about her time at Albyn, heading off to university, and how life took her somewhere she never expected…from reality TV to beauty and business.

Our favourite part? This advice…

β€œIf there was one message I hope to leave them with, it was that success rarely follows a straight line the journey itself, with all its twists, challenges, opportunities and lessons, is often the more valuable part.”

We couldn’t agree more.

Thanks for coming in to see us Roxanne, you’re always welcome through our doors πŸ’š

Our pupils shine in national translation competition 🌟

We’re so proud to report our pupils have once again excelled in the prestigious Anthea-Bell Translation Competition, run by the University of Oxford. With more than 25,000 entries from across the UK, these achievements are truly impressive…

πŸ‘πŸ» Scarlett (P7) received commendation as Scotland runner-up for her level 1 German translation.

πŸ‘πŸ» Victoria (S2) was named runner-up for her level 2 French translation.

πŸ† Mila (S1) was crowned Area Winner for Scotland for her translation of a Russian fairy tale into English.

The competition, named in honour of renowned translator Anthea Bell OBE, best known for the French Asterix comics, celebrates creativity, language skills and cultural understanding.

Congratulations to you all on this fantastic achievement!
