We are located in the North East of Scotland in a city called Aberdeen, often referred to as the β€˜oil capital of Europe’. Founded in 1867 as an all-girls school, Albyn School has spent the last 150 years evolving to become one of Scotland’s leading independent educational establishments. Located in the reputable west end of Aberdeen, our buildings are a beautiful blend of traditional 19th century

Our P7 pupils recently returned from an unforgettable trip to Normandy. They visited key World War II sites, practiced their French speaking skills and enjoyed plenty of sunshine along the way.

One of our P7 pupils Jess has written a fantastic report about the experience, sharing some of the highlights, memories and reflections from the trip.

What a wonderful way to finish our P1 transition sessions! 🧸

After eight weeks of fun-filled transition sessions, our future P1 pupils gathered for a special Teddy Bears' Picnic with their families. Throughout their visits, the children have enjoyed getting to know one another, exploring the school environment, building confidence and developing friendships ahead of starting their Albyn journey.

We are so proud of how well the children have embraced each session and can't wait to welcome them back after the holidays as they begin their exciting adventure in P1!

Adventures in Alltnacriche!

Our P5 had a fabulous few days filled with adventures - team building through gorge scrambling, climbing, hiking and zip lining; learning to build and cook outside on a fire; competing in football and basketball matches and enjoying some well deserved chill time playing pool, air hockey and board games at the end of each busy day.

Can’t wait to see what fun next year’s P6 residential trip will bring!

What a week for S5 Blair in Munich! πŸŽ―πŸƒ

Competing at the ISSF Pistol and Rifle World Cup in the Target Sprint competition, Blair proudly represented Great Britain for the very first time, and first time on the international stage too!

Blair competed in both the Singles and Mixed Pairs events. In the Singles competition, he qualified 9th overall, narrowly missing out on a place in the A Final. Undeterred, he went on to win the B Final. An outstanding achievement at his first international competition! πŸ†

Congratulations, Blair! We're excited to see what comes next!

Our Cadets take to the sky ✈

A very excited group of 10 of our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) cadets took to the sky recently as part of an Air Experience Flight with the Royal Air Force.

Each cadet had the opportunity to fly in the RAF’s Tutor T1 aircraft for almost 30 minutes, experiencing several thrilling aerial manoeuvres along the way including barrel rolls and even a β€œloop the loop!”

The highlight for many was getting the chance to take control and fly the aircraft themselves for a short time under the guidance of the pilot.

Opportunities like this are a fantastic part of the CCF experience, helping cadets build confidence, resilience and lifelong memories.

Our Primary 1 pupils enjoyed their outdoor learning lesson recently exploring the important role bees play in helping plants grow πŸͺ΄

The children created their own beautiful bees using dandelions, before taking part in a fun pollination game, collecting 'pollen' and moving it from 'flower to flower'. It was a lovely way to learn about nature, teamwork and the busy world of bees, while also developing care, curiosity and respect for the world around us.
