What will Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire look like to visitors in 2036?

That is the question we are putting to young people across the region as we launch our new 10 years of VisitAberdeenshire schools project, developed with the support of DYW North East.

Open to primary and secondary schools across the region, the project invites pupils to explore the future of tourism through a series of creative challenges covering topics such as future visitor experiences, travel trends, destination marketing and sustainable tourism.

As well as developing skills in creativity, communication, research, innovation and critical thinking, pupils will gain an insight into one of the North-east's most important industries and the wide range of careers it supports.

🏆 Winning entries will be displayed to tourism and business leaders at the North East Tourism Conference on Wednesday 4 November 2026, providing a platform for young people to share their ideas for the future of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

We would love to see schools from across the region get involved.

We are delighted to welcome Diego Felix from Felix Consulting as a Pledge Partner.

"I want Felix Consulting to be involved with young people because I want to bring an international perspective and help drive an entrepreneurial mindset here in Aberdeen. Having worked across three continents, meeting people from all over the world has given me nuances and perspectives I couldn't have found any other way, it's shaped how I think and compete, it's been my own differentiator, and it's exactly the kind of thinking I want to open up for the next generation."

If you have something to offer young people and want to help shape young peoples future pathways reach out to see how you can support DYW North East.
